I'm a Yankees fan and I hate the Dodgers, so obviously this is a pretty awful series. But man if the Yankees somehow pulled off the reverse sweep it would be absolutely legendary. 20 years after Dave Roberts and the Red Sox did it to them.

Realistically, I think they win at least tonight to stay alive briefly.

I don't really know what to choose for a second weapon to carry. Probably will be a mix of weapons, with Switchaxe always occupying the first weapon slot.

I'm still mad that they didn't get Kanata for that. She's a huge baseball fan, fits the blue theme, and is an angel, which ties into LA obviously.

Also I wonder if Gura even wants the Dodgers to win. She could be a fan of one of the two New York teams for all we know.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

The MLB players union is pretty strong, and players mostly don't want a salary cap. And owners don't want a salary floor. Right now all there is the Competitive Balance Tax, which is designed to keep the larger market teams in check. Here's some info on that:

https://www.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/competitive-balance-tax

The teams will go over that threshold, but they're always wary of it because they have to pay significantly more the more they go over that threshold.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

The Yankees generally have the highest or one of the highest payrolls in baseball and are often criticized for going after big name free agents all the time. Essentially "buying championships". But that's kind of the point. Teams that spend big are generally the ones that win the World Series. And the Yankees' best player is a homegrown player, so that criticism is even more stupid in recent times than it was in the past.

The Dodgers operate in a similar manner, but they made the two biggest signings in the offseason. Shohei Ohtani is one of those signings, and he received the largest contract in the history of any sport. But due to how it's structured, he is going to be receiving most of that money after his contract is up, which will free up payroll space for the Dodgers in the 10 years he'll be playing for them. As a result, the Dodgers actually have only the 5th highest payroll in MLB right now.

I think the Yankees win in 6 or 7. The Dodgers pitching has been really good this postseason despite all the injuries, but the top of that Yankees lineup is going to be tougher than what they faced with the Padres and Mets.

The Yankees have some good starters and their bullpen has kind of been overperforming. But I think they'll be able to just get over the hump that is the Dodgers lineup.

Yes, although it's not my favourite in the original trilogy. That'd be Halo 2.

The campaign isn't as interesting as Halo 2 and it has a genuinely terrible level in Cortana (especially on Legendary) but the multiplayer is top notch. I must have spent a fair few hours playing that on Xbox Live back in the day.

Also just listening to the main menu theme brings back so many memories waiting for a game.
https://youtu.be/uXcWxw7UHME
Cortana isn't that bad because the Flood are much more fun to fight in Halo 3 than the prior two games. And you have a lot more options to deal with them. I think High Charity from Halo 2 is probably a worse mission (though still not bad). And The Library in CE is clearly much worse.

Halo 3's campaign having four player co-op was a really big deal though. Made it so much fun to replay over and over.

But you don't ever have to really scrounge for ammo. You just have to use the chainsaw often. So yeah, you do have to play the way the game wants you to play. And that's understandably not for everyone.

I like it, but I'd be content if Doom went back to being a traditional shooter.

Also, can I have a 40 year old "old man" moment?

I lament the continuing loss of the clear ace. Like, look at Detroit here tossing out Skubal and being like, "This is our ace. He is fucking fantastic and unless YOU get to him? He is throwing at least 7 innings"

Fucking Cleveland? They didn't even give up a run yet and they were already going to the pen in the 4th inning. Like, WTF. More and more teams are just going, "LOL, starter going more than 5? What are you, a fucking idiot?"

I know there are probably plenty of analytics nerds that are gonna roast the fuck out of me for this opinion and that it is more about pitchers moving into being all about power strikeout pitchers so they're tossing like 100 pitches into the 5th inning... but isn't Skubal just proving that maybe the tried and true ace going 7-8 innings and pitching often to contact still is probably the IDEAL?
Cleveland does have an ace though, he's just injured. Shane Beiber's season ended at the beginning of the year. That's really the main problem. Every team wants to have a Tarik Skubal. It's just that even when they do, injuries have a good chance of ruining everything.

Baseball is also a crapshoot. The Dodgers' rotation is in shambles right now, but their bullpen did really well against the Padres in the NLDS. So bullpen games can end up being pretty effective. They're just not as fun to watch.

It might have helped if you could only carry like three smoothies at a time and if they made them more expensive, but even then you can still spawn a bed at any time and completely heal (as long as youre not in battle).

Its weird seeing them try to fix this issue when it wasnt really an issue in the games before BOTW.
I don't think they were trying to fix any issue in particular, they just wanted to keep rolling with a system similar to BOTW/TOTK as far as crafting goes. I don't mind them being so OP because I'm not necessarily looking for the game to be as challenging as past 2D Zeldas. I do think where the system is flawed is that bottles have become a near worthless reward when in past Zelda games they are one of the most satisfying rewards you can get. They only hold fairies now, and death isn't something that occurs particularly often.

I think maybe the way it should have been done is have a couple more obtainable bottles, but smoothies and potions would have to occupy those bottles. This could keep the smoothies but also make bottles a very meaningful reward again.
