Not a terrible idea honestly.

Would be pretty cool if the game starts on a relatively typical Final Fantasy world and your party is the crew of a ship being sent out into space for the first time on an exploration mission. Pick up a few aliens along the way.

That's very true but I still think the people in charge from Season 3 onward would have still managed to make those 6 episodes go by a lot slower.

It's a show that desperately wanted to be prestige television but just didn't have the writing behind it.

Tries to mimic the slower burn pacing of Breaking Bad but can't match the quality. I think Scott Gimple as showrunner introduced most of this issue. The first season was a lot more quicker paced and the second didn't feel quite as impacted either.

Even in Fear The Walking Dead you could tell the moment he was in charge, for better or worse.

The guys that tried and failed to remake KotOR want to show you their AI upcaled mod for an arguably more beloved game.
It really makes you wonder what they showed to Sony/Disney that they instantly scrapped it. I'm guessing it looked lot like this Deus Ex remaster.

Also as much as I love the idea of some updated control schemes, it was barely functional in the Tomb Raider remasters, so I dread to think how they've "modernized" Deus Ex which is a lot more complex.

I actually love the modern day stuff and think it's an important (and now very under served) hook for the whole series but unless they were remaking every game in the series it would be pretty weird to include in what is practically a standalone title now.

They may as well drop 4 from the title while they're at it.

Only vaguely in order because it's too difficult otherwise:

Destroy All Monsters
Son of Godzilla
Godzilla vs Hedorah
Ebirah, Horror of the Deep
Invasion of Astro Monster
Godzilla vs Gigan

Cinematically speaking most of these aren't considered the best movies but they are the ones I re-watch the most by far and I love and cherish them.

I grew up on the Showa era so my fondness for them is sky high but I enjoy all the eras. Definitely miss the days of some guy in a rubber suit though, there's a certain charm to it that can't be matched but Minus One and Godzilla(2014) were both excellent top tier G-movies regardless.

Topicpeople who want 'easy mode' in Soulsborne - whats it mean to you?
Bringit

I don't get any enjoyment out of high difficulty in games. I always see people say things like how after they spend an hour learning and practicing on a boss, when they finally finish the battle they say how good and satisfying it felt - I don't get that. I'm glad it's over but not in a "go me, I rock!" kind of way and instead more of a "thank god, that sucked" and there's a really high chance the next time I get stuck in that kinda situation I will just stop playing.

People who enjoy high difficulty seem to feel that a high level challenge is a requisite to have fun and will often chide easy games for being boring, but I'm on the other end of that spectrum and find high level challenge boring (frustrating and stressful too depending on how mechanics work). I've even played through games such as Control with god mode on the entire way and loved it. Just because I couldn't die during combat didn't mean I couldn't soak in the atmosphere, get invested in the story or even enjoy the gameplay. I still try to play my best even on low difficulties, there's just none of that anxiety of game over screens, time wasting or loss of progress when I screw up.

I also have played many online competitive games and there are a handful I have actually been very good at, I just don't like that level of intensity in my single-player experiences.

The main reason debates like this become so heated is that people who love high difficulty don't want people who don't to have the option of a low difficulty because they feel it will take something away from the game, effectively barring everyone else from the game (I've played two Souls games in my entire life including the original Demon's Souls) which of course makes everyone defensive. I can do these games, rise above the difficulty and finish them but what a lot of people can't wrap their heads around is I don't enjoy it, I don't have fun. I could have fun with these games if I was given options but I'm told no and that really sucks.

EDIT: I will add that a quick and dirty but also elegant solution to this is just add God mode toggles to games. This way the design philosophy of the game does not get impacted in any way. I'd be fine with that and probably even pick up Elden Ring finally, and just switch the toggle when something really starts walling me. Obviously have it disable achievements but I don't see any drawback to this as an option that doesn't devolve into gatekeeping.

I'm a big advocate for watching it yourself the first time because for all you know you might end up loving most of it but with the "skip it" advice you might either never watch it at all or be retroactively spoiled by later episodes (in the sense of writing, pacing, characterization etc) that not being able to enjoy it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Either way, despite being dryer and sometimes rough in places, I don't think it was bad anyway, certainly not the whole season. Plus there's some continuity there like meeting Q for the first time.

After the first 2 is where it starts getting blurry. I can remember a handful of Pokemon from the 3rd gen just off the top of my head (and could probably name most of them with pictures) but if you asked me to name any from the 4th I wouldn't know what to say. Those early days were the times I was most involved with the games, multiple playthroughs including all the spin-offs and watching the shows and movies.

Starting from 3 it was more hit the credits and wait for the next one and I fell off the anime and movies somewhere during Johto's run I think. Pokemon 2000 was maybe the last movie I watched while it was still relevant though I can't even remember if I saw it when it came out or just on TV some day.

Would a show about a middle-aged Buffy (and presumably the oldest Slayer to ever live) really have been so bad? It sounds like it's barely going to involve her at this rate and instead is just using her as a springboard to launch an entirely different show with a Buffy skin.

Not so much a Buffy reboot as a spin-off.

I didn't say we must know, I said presumably and this should be Nintendo's (or any other online platform's) headache to figure out, not ours. My take on this is that I just won't advocate for our accounts getting potentially banned despite doing nothing wrong. A "smooth" 1-3 day customer service interaction like our time and purchases are meaningless isn't going to change my mind.

I'm genuinely surprised at how defended this is and would be curious to see if that stance remained if those same people were getting their own accounts banned but for me I just can't get behind it. I concede that some of you feel differently and that's fair enough, just a clash of philosophy I guess. I apologize if I came on too strong in my previous post, I didn't mean for it to sound aggressive... just annoyingly tends to come out that way when I feel strongly about something.

So tell us, exactly what should Nintendo do when they see clearly pirated copies being played? Send a message to each console, asking nicely to show a pic of proof that they are playing a legit copy?
Isn't that literally what they're doing except forcing you to do all the work? Regardless if there were more than two then there's a good chance it has been mass copied in which case it's much more understandable but in this case where there were only two instances, one of them presumably legit and they can't tell which then I don't think it's fair to ban the person not doing anything wrong.

Like this is all fine and dandy for most gamers I guess but imagine it's a young kid with clueless parents or an elderly and relative non-gamer or vulnerable person. Hell, what if it happened to you? Twice? And this guy may have had a good experience with customer service but that won't always be the case.

Maybe if this only prevents you playing multiplayer it isn't so bad but if it also stops you being able to access all your purchased games it's way too far and frankly you know well as I do if this started effecting thousands of people, Nintendo would change it because of the hit to their reputation.

I like to think it was McCoy's way of keeping Spock's half-human side present. He often used it as a sort of ego-check more than anything else and as a previous poster mentioned it was pretty much targeted directly at Spock as opposed to other Vulcans.

McCoy was kind of a hard man and I don't think he was ever gonna sit down and have a heart-to-heart with Spock about his concerns over the amount of pressure Spock applies on himself trying to be Vulcan, instead he riled him up and forced Spock to confront his human aspects.

However, it's only palpable because there aren't Vulcans in reality (that we know) and it really wouldn't fly if there were.

If it COULD then I'd probably just continue shows that have long since ended, or just have like "lost episodes" of old shows. Really don't think it will ever get there in a way that doesn't involve heavy user input though and I think having to make all the details yourself will kinda prevent you from being able to consume it for entertainment value outside of the novelty.

Consider the Jedi Apprentice novels by Dave Wolverton/Jude Watson. They're meant for a younger demographic but really captured the magic of Star Wars for me.

It's the story of how Obi-Wan becomes Qui-Gon's Padawan and how their dynamic forms, I really enjoyed them and still think about them after all this time. They're pretty quick reads too IIRC.

Batman may very well be overexposed but I genuinely feel like he and his villains have the depth to back it up. A bad Batman story is a failing of the writer and not the character.
