Um?

I'm just wondering what kind of degrees, accomplishments, salary, and/or levels of attractiveness would entitle any single human being to such arrogance. Are you a rugged and ripped Yale lawyer with a couple of Ph.Ds? Because if not, maybe it's time to stop being so unbelievably intense about things you understand only superficially.

I would be very, very interested in hearing a defense for Metaknight. Seriously, how doesn't he make the game overly-centralized? His best matchup is against himself.

Anyway, as far as attendance goes, it'll likely be a wash. As others have already said, the Brawl community is no longer relevant, so those who still play are pretty passionate about it. Those few who will drop due to the Metaknight ban will likely be made up for in full by others who rejoin the community because a broken-as-all-hell character finally got the treatment he deserves.

that always annoys me. you have to work around that stuff, unless it's actually gamebreaking.

That bolded part is important, and I'm glad you included it. Still, using a gamebreaking move isn't "cheap," but rather just limits the quality of the game. "Cheap," for me, always implies that you basically just suck at video games.

Xenoblade.

Seriously.

Thing is, I sold my Wii a while back (because lol Wii), but I'm starting to regret that decision only for Xenoblade. Such a shame that a classic game was released so late on the system's life!

Anyway, if there aren't any 2D games that match the description *specifically*, then let's go with games more along the lines of Seiken Densetsu 3 and Terranigma: huge games with great 2D-RPG gameplay and lots to do.

I agree. And I'm sure Southwest, the GLAAD-approved airline, also agrees. Which is why I feel that unless the plane happened to be full of bigots that day, the complaining and eventual kicking-off must have had some legitimate impetus.

You have no right to PDAs on a plane owned by a private company.

And you do?

No, he's saying that no couple does, heterosexual or homosexual.

Honestly, SMuffin's being entirely reasonable here, with one caveat: just because it's a private business doesn't mean they can do whatever they want. If they reserved a seat for "White Males only," then that would be unacceptable, public or private. PDA, however, is pretty clearly in the realm of their jurisdiction, and there's as of yet no reason to doubt that a GLAAD-sponsored airline went out of their way to offend a homosexual couple.

No, I'm sorry, you are so far off-base. Most of the time when my rights are getting trodden on, I just don't put myself back into the same situation; stop going to that store, etc.

Sorry metroid, but if you're anything like your online persona, then I'd have a hard time seeing you as a typical gay. You've got pretty excellent judgment, which the people in this article seemed to utterly lack.

Again, from everything we know, there are only two likely "blameworthy" groups:
1) The girls, for possibly going overboard with PDA and definitely going overboard in their reaction.
2) The passengers, for complaining when they shouldn't have.

And you honestly believe that nobody would complain if they so much as rubbed noses? You're a far more optimistic person than I if you believe so.

Like I said before, the biggest unanswered question is whether the complaints were warranted. Maybe they weren't. This doesn't change that this whole thing was handled poorly.

People who are gay, however, tend to make every small conflict a massive battle for the Stake on Gay Freedom and Independence™.

well that's just awesome, let's offensively stereotype an entire sexual orientation.

[...]

Is this your excuse for every potential gay rights issue? This is the s*** Swift says unironically.

A couple people in my immediate family are gay, so I've been around it for my entire life. I'm not trying to be offensive, but rather realistic; I know how discriminated groups operate. They're far too sensitive and bad at knowing when to pick their battles. Plenty of family dinners have been ruined by someone talking something the wrong way. It's really no different than feminism gone wrong.

Yeah, because the passengers totally would have complained if it had been a heterosexual couple. And if they had, the heterosexual couple would totally have been kicked off the plane rather than being politely asked to stop or tone it down.

That's not what happened. Re-read what went down, preferably from a less biased article.

Also, I've gotten comments for holding my boyfriend's hand in public, something that people wouldn't look twice at if we were a straight couple. So, yeah, I'm leaning towards the lesbians on this one.

The girls were definitely kissing in a confined, public space, people definitely complained, and I'm sure the girl(s) went way overboard in how they handled it. A big part of this issue is whether or not the complaints were warranted, but even if the answer is "no," this whole thing could've been resolved without much trouble if the girl(s) in question hadn't felt crucified.

As much as one could trust the company trying to cover their ass.

"Dude, I swear, they were all over each other, that s*** had to stop."

Businesses typically don't have a reason to initiate conflict unless they absolutely have to, i.e. when multiple customers complain. People who are gay, however, tend to make every small conflict a massive battle for the Stake on Gay Freedom and Independence™.

So yeah, I'm actually going to trust Southwest more on this one. But again, more information etc. etc.

Initial reports indicate that we received several passenger complaints characterizing the behavior as excessive. Our crew, responsible for the comfort of all Customers on board, approached the passengers based solely on behavior and not gender. The conversation escalated to a level that was better resolved on the ground, as opposed to in flight. We regret any circumstance where a passenger does not have a positive experience on Southwest and we are ready to work directly with the passengers involved to offer our heartfelt apologies for falling short of their expectations.

"Being gay" is not the same as "eating your lover's face out in front of little children." We need more info, but based on the above, I'd side with Southwest. If a straight couple had received similar complaints for similar exhibitionism, the result would've been identical.

I'd say that Mario was the "prestige series" during both the 8-bit and 16-bit era, and Zelda and Final Fantasy competed during the 64/Playstation era. I don't think we've really had a "prestige series" since then, which is unfortunate. Though the Galaxy games are great, the New Super Mario series is utterly uninspired and derivative.
