For my money, do it whenev. My sleep schedule has been absolutely awful for the past several days. I've been getting up at 7-9pm and going to bed at around 1-3 in the afternoon. I don't even know why. But with only one class for Summer B, it hasn't been much of an issue as far as responsibilities are concerned. I do need to visit the IRS for a tax return statement so I can get financial aid on time, though, and I'll need to be awake at a normal hour for that...

Bonus Question: So what do YOU think of FFVII’s famous end of disc one spoiler? Do you like it? Hate it? Feel free to give your overall opinions of this moment!

Tragedy totally works for me, on the other hand, so long as it isn't too bombastic and repetitive that the whole piece becomes tragic to the point of absurdity. FFVII is punctuated by the tragedies of Biggs, Wedge and Jessie's deaths (although Wedge falling and somehow still talking, and Aerith alleging that she'll somehow find a way to save him, are really funny...) and, chiefly, Aerith's death. The former got me amped to kill Shinra mooks back in '97, whereas the latter genuinely awakened something in me. I felt the same way when one of the leads died in a vaguely similar way on DS9, and I often compare Aerith to that woman for good reason in retrospect.

Anyway, yes. I loved it. I still love it.

Yep, sounds about right. My grandmother raised me, though, and not only was she into science fiction television, she also had a huge array of bookcases, and at least 30-40% of those books were sci-fi classics. I had the pleasure of reading Foundation at the age of nine! Good stuff.

I was lucky enough to live in an area where UPN acquired the rights to DS9 and aired new episodes on Saturday nights. Voyager was on Wednesdays, I think, but that show was theirs, so whatever it was, it was universal.

Watching those two shows throughout the week was really nifty. They were so different, but as a kid I loved them both. I also watched TNG before that, but it ended at a point in which I was still too young to really grasp its significance. Thankfully, it has lived on in reruns ever since, so it wasn't long before I could understand it.

The doctors I've seen are great, but there's only so much camp I can take. It makes early TNG seasons and a couple of early Farscape episodes all the more painful for me. (Farscape never escapes camp, but what it does with the word is unquestionably badass.)

I do like it enough to list it up there, though, even if it's going to be a while before I really get into it!

Anyway, DS9 is my favorite show. Like... ever. Above things like The Wire and Breaking Bad, and Farscape and SG-1 and Galactica. It's at the top. Love it to hell and back, all the way through, except for like ten really awful episodes.

...which is still a much better track record than the other Trek shows. Hey, yeah, I love Star Trek. Grew up with it. But the shows are pretty uneven for the most part, I will admit!

I wasn't really being all that specific on the number ten when I said that. But Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Battlestar Galactica, Babylon 5 and Farscape are all as good or better than Stargate SG-1, at least. Firefly factors in there somewhere, but while it's good, it's not as good as any of those series. It could have been, but alas. Doctor Who isn't really my cup of tea so much from what I've seen, but I absolutely respect its storytelling capabilities. Star Trek: The Next Generation at its finest also gives its competitors a run for their money, but it's held back frequently by lesser episodes.

So basically, nothing you didn't already know.

What I mean by continuity blur is that since I watched them so fast, the early showtime seasons run together for me a bit, whereas around season 6-7, I started watching on scifi and had to like...wait.

I really like every season, really, and I don't feel like seasons seven and eight dropped the ball where continuity was concerned. Maybe in some other areas, sure, but those might just be my favorite years despite that. (Kind of a bold statement, I know.)

I caught up on SG-1 as it aired its first season on Sci-Fi here in the States, which means its sixth because it was on Fox syndication for its first five. Sci-Fi used to air four-hour blocks of Seasons 1-5 on Monday nights in an effort to get people caught-up and interested, and it worked on my grandmother and I!

It's an excellent idea. One of the ten best sci-fi shows out there for sure.

Just be advised in case you've forgotten, the first season has a lot of duds. It has a few standouts already, though, and by the third season at latest you'll feel right at home.

I'll definitely engage in lots of discussion with ya if you turn this into a watchthrough, to make up for all the folks who will not discuss this with you. :D

Heh, that new sequence where your squadmates get picked up is pretty great, but it was really weird for me. You see, I chose to bring Garrus and Javik with me. Garrus because he's the ultimate bro, and Javik because of his undying vengeance against the Reapers. I was aware of how that dialogue sequence generally goes no matter what, with obvious alterations depending on who the characters are and if you're romantically linked to them.

Well, I was hoping at the very least that it'd be Garrus that's injured and refuses to leave, but it winds up being Javik. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, of course, but when my Paragon Shepard told him, "someone has to survive this!" it rang really weirdly to me, considering Javik had only an hour prior heavily insinuated to my Shepard that he'd off himself to go to his fellow Protheans in the great beyond.

Shepard, it's a lovely thought, but...

"Dexter...!" JEFF ZERO cries out, shocked that his faithful computer pal is down for the count and apparently not all that shaken by his recent bodily separation thing.

It doesn't take long before Jeff notices the demons' obvious interest in Restandre. "There must be some reason for their repeated attacks! JOLTEON, if you can get in close with Swift -- which never misses, no matter what, rain or shine, heaven or hell, Snorlax or raging demons of the underworld -- maybe you can loosen the Blue Demon's grasp on that girl long enough for her to break free! But Jolteon... please don't do anything too rash! Get in and get out with one fell swoop, do you hear me? Swift-slam into the demon, and then swiftly make your way out!"

But Jolteon shakes his head, determined to do even more than that if possible. Instead, he nods to the launchpad on his back, indicating to studious trainers like Jeff Zero that he's going to bash into the demon with a Swift attack and attempt to thrust Restandre out of harm's reach and onto a safe perch.

"Jolteon... you're a real hero!" Jeff declares, and he holds his Flaming Longsword forward menacingly, approaching the demons with a shout. "Hey! You let my friend go, you big jerks! Or else...!"

This might just give Jolteon the element of surprise necessary...!

It's Dexter, his very own vocalized Pokedex! Dexter ought to be able to shed some light on things -- both literally and figuratively if necessary, as Jeff has installed a flashlight app! But for now, from a comfortable distance, he merely scans the unknown.
