The problem is most people who walk in to the shop don't really know how to haggle with Rick and the others properly, and thus they end up getting much less than they should.
The Old Man is far harsher than Rick when it comes to haggling, too. It's kind of funny.
My favorite guy will always be the one who had the room full of Transformers stuff, which he valued at $20,000. Rick was kind of "Ehhhhh..." at that, so he called an expert in. The expert's opinion? The stuff was worth at least $20,000. I loled. Dude ended up keeping his stuff cause Rick only offered like $8000 and he figured it could go for more somewhere else.
Achromatic posted... Murphiroth winced as he walked through the doorway. He had just been in the battle of his life and it showed. He panted heavily, his breaths were shallow and sickly sounding, and sweat had soaked through his t-shirt. His mother tried to help him to the bed but he waved her off, he didnt want to look as weak as he felt. Not in front of her. She had taken care of him when he couldnt take care of himself. That wasnt required any longer. He was a man now. He put away his DS, tired from the Pokemon battle.
ShadowHalo17 posted... That reminds me though, I was gonna ask you all earlier if you would post your top five favorite heroes from each Marvel and DC. I know I request stuff like this a lot, but I like it, so sue me.
This is kind of hard to narrow down, and I also had to make it one from each family, because I'd have Bruce, Tim, and Cassandra as the top three on the DC side.
DC: 1. Bruce Wayne 2. J'onn J'onnz 3. Lex Luthor 4. Hal Jordan 5. Black Canary
Marvel: 1. Thor 2. Iron Man 3. X-23 4. Doctor Strange 5. Ghost Rider
The second game really is an exponential leap in quality. It's much less repetitive, and Ezio is a much more likable character than Altair.
As for the stealth thing...meh. The social stealth aspect in AC2 and Brotherhood works great, but it does sort of go in a direction where it's more about an almost open conflict between the Assassins and the Templars. The real life Assassins killed their targets as publicly as possible to send the message that no one was safe, etc. They just didn't have magical parkour skills and were usually killed on the spot. So I've never had an issue with the idea of killing your targets so openly then having to run away.
ShadowHalo17 posted... Really? Iron Man has been pretty awful for a while now. I hate who Tony turned into after he regained his memories. I prefer the playboy that likes to blow s*** up.
I'm one of the rare people who actually enjoys this new introspective Tony. He's still a playboy, just more disturbed emotionally. I do occasionally wish Fraction would action it up a bit, but I do like the story he's telling. I'm weird like that.
And I'm just waiting for the reveal that he actually does remember all of Civil War and he's just lying to try and get people off his back. Ok, that's not likely, but it'd be interesting.
I liked it. I don't know what the general opinion is, but it brought the story started in Messiah CompleX to a fitting end, and the deaths in it were fairly well done. It's got some awesome X-Force moments, and even has Cypher joining X-Force for a mission. And I love me some Cypher.
And best of all, Cyke finally gets recognition for how awesome he is, from Captain America himself.
1) Thor 2) Iron Man 3) Captain America 4) Iron Man 2 5) The Incredible Hulk
The top three are all pretty equal, but Thor and Iron Man are my two favorite Marvel characters...so yeah. IM2 and IH are a notch below the other three.
ShadowHalo17 posted... Well yeah, I imagine his voice now when reading Thor. And these movies have already been somewhat of a mix between 616 and Ultimate. Thor only has a beard in Ultimate, but the rest of his attire was from 616. And he didn't have the chainmail for a long time in 616 either. So they're still not taking much from Ultimate. Though it's obvious they're taking a lot form that universe anyway, because Nick Fury is only Samuel L. Jackson in Ultimate.
Fixed. LOL.
And yeah, I hear Thor's dialogue in his voice, too. Same with Loki. I honestly don't know how they're gonna top Loki in Thor 2.
Oh, and 616 Thor did have a beard in few pages of Second Coming, where Mike Choi drew him to look pretty much exactly like Hemsworth.
Well, it's more stubble, really, but you get what I mean.
Not that I know of, but obviously Loki knew ways around that didn't involve the Rainbow Bridge, so I'm assuming that'll come into play. Or maybe it'll be something like SHIELD managing to replicate the effects once they find out who Loki is to get Thor's help.
I don't think Thor is skinnier in the trailer, I just think the armor is less bulky so it looks that way.
It looked kinda like a hybrid of Ultimate and 616, which LTM will hate but I'm fine with it. Hemsworth already proved he is Thor, so that's all that truly matters to me.
I'm fully expecting to see the Winter Soldier in the sequel.
And was it just me or did the effect when Skull grabbed the Cube look exactly like the Bifrost from Thor? I'm guessing he's not dead.
For me, Thor is definitely movie of the year. I can acknowledge Cap was likely a better movie objectively, but I'm a Thor fanboy so yeah.
Oh, and I have a theory about the Avengers movie. We know SHIELD has the Cube, and we see Loki in custody in the beginning. I get the feeling the beginning of the movie has him deliberately getting "captured" so he can get into the SHIELD base and get the Cube, then get out. Which then results in the scenes of everyone looking all somber while he effs with stuff, maybe even manipulating the Hulk in a twist on the original Avengers origin.
ShadowHalo17 posted... I'm pissed that they're benching her again, after she just got off the f***ing bench! GOD DAMN IT. DC is really doing its best to piss off Cassandra Cain fans. Hopefully Simone does get Cass though, because I can't think of anyone else who would handle Cass better.
Same here. She's probably my favorite Batfamily member, maybe tied with Bruce and Tim. I think Simone could do wonders with her.
I was glad to see confirmation that Cassandra Cain would still be around after the reboot...although if they'll actually utilize her or not is another story.
Saw Cap last night, I absolutely loved it. Evans really nailed it. Can't wait to see him and Tony interact in Avengers.
KanzarisKelshen posted... PS: Hawkeye arguably IS the Avengers, Lopen. If they had to pick somebody to rep them, he is 100% the best choice.
This. Hawkeye is one the the greatest Avengers ever. He's also hilarious, and he'll fit really well in the game. And he's bringing Hank Pym with him? Sweet.
So yeah, there are Hawkeye fans out there. I'm one.
Really happy about all of the Marvel picks, TBH. Capcom side is cool despite no Megaman but I don't care about them nearly as much. Can't wait to try out Dr. Strange. No Ms. Marvel is disappointing, though.
Where are you at in the game right now? Still in the Middle East?
One thing I do like about the game is the whole suave/professional/aggressive thing, which the devs said allowed you to be the "three JBs" or something like that. James Bond, Jason Bourne, and Jack Bauer. Thought that was kinda cool.
I used to work at a Books-A-Million here in SC, and man, we had some crazy customers.
Like the guy who came in and asked for the a book on chi so he could "learn how to shoot fireballs from his forehead".
tl;dr incoming, just a warning.
My favorite, though, is the incident I call Poopwall day. This is gross, you've been warned. I was on lunch, and the bathrooms are right next to the backroom. My manager was unloading truck and I was chatting with him when we were both assaulted by a horrific odor coming from the bathrooms. It was like, invade and pillage your nostrils bad.
Anyway, we go to the hall to see a customer open the bathroom door and immediately take a step back and let it shut. He looks at us and starts laughing, and says he wants to wait to see who the heck made the terrible smell.
So a few minutes later a rather large middle aged guy waddles out of the bathroom. My manager and I duck in there, despite the smell, and go to look in the only stall.
There's crap all over the floor. And as the stall door starts to shut on my manager's back, I notice crap all up and down the inside of it. Luckily I noticed in time for him to dodge. So now there's crap all over the floors and walls of the stall. I clean it up, only to notice that the smell won't go away. While scrubbing the crap outta my hands, I see there's little poop flecks all around the sink. I clean that up, and when I throw everything away, I noticed the smell was strongest next to the trash can.
I look inside, and there's a huge pair of wet crap covered whitey tighties. As far as we can tell, the guy crapped himself, then tried to wipe the crap on the walls and floor, then tried to wash them like he was gonna put them back on or something.
Still don't know if something was wrong with him or if I should feel guilty about laughing, but I can't help it.
The worst part is that's only one of the incidents involving poop at that store.
I picked it up pretty cheap on a whim. It's one of those games with a ton of glitches and other problems that has occasional showings of a good game buried somewhere in there.
The save system is one of those problems. And just wait until you get to a boss fight. I actually stopped playing due to how glitchy and ridiculous the second one I got to was. Apparently using pistols makes the game a cakewalk, but I went assault rifle.
TheArkOfTurus posted... Not digging A&A as much as Fables so far, but it's still very good. Fables grew on me quite a bit, so I wouldn't be too surprised if that ends up changing!
Fables grew on me, too, so I expect A&A to do the same.
And the video for Musical Chairs is great. Darroh Sudderth is a twitchy little man. He puts on an amazing live show from what I've heard.
