Did anyone else think that the water bottle looked eerily like a little doll or something? Seymour's fingers served as the hands and the main bottle looked like a head and body. It totally could have passed for one of his figurines.

I wouldn't imagine it's possible to develop hemophilia, but that's kind of what it sounds like. Your blood is obviously thinner than in the past for some reason. Dietary, maybe?

1. Secret of Mana

Assuming I survive the initial drop off the waterfall bridge, I'd be able to pull the sword and make it back to Potos I imagine, since rabites aren't exactly intimidating. I would imagine the Ant Lion would be bad news considering (a) it involves another drop of 12 feet and then (b) I'd be fighting a boss, but Gemma's sitting there with an unlimited supply of Cups of Wishes. So I'd at least get that far. I might even get as far as the Water Palace, but I'd succumb to my wounds before making it as far as Pandora considering that I don't regain health from eating candy or chocolate.


2. Civilization (any)

I would survive one, maybe two turns, before dying of old age since the chronology on the initial turns in every game are upwards of 20 years.


3. World of Warcraft

Being successful in a game like WoW would depend on actually having *some* of the skills of a character class I choose. Since I'm pretty sure the point of this exercise is that I don't do this, I'd probably get my ass kicked by kobolds and starving wolves around Northshire Valley (since obviously I'm a human.)


Game I'm currently playing: Recettear

At least this is a game where I'm not in any mortal danger, (except maybe on a dungeon run, but apparently I'm protected and only the adventurer is at risk there.) However, I lack people skills and I've never worked in retail, plus I'm not an adorable little anime girl, so I doubt many people would come into my shop to buy things from me and the ones that do would probably not accept my pisspoor haggling skills. I'll be homeless by day 15, if not day 8. If I don't kill Tear first for making me eat nothing but porridge every day.

The last one was Motorhead? Aren't they a one hit wonder - at least by today's standards?

Also, you might want to put an example in your OP of a band somebody's actually heard of. Or that's actually the name of your fictitious band. (It took me much longer than it should have to realize that it's some Parks and Recreation joke, and the band is actually Scarecrow Boat.) If you want to do a fictitious group, maybe Spinal Tap?

Alright, so I (mostly) understand what happened, and it's terrible. The mother and the grandmother should definitely be held responsible in some way, I'm sure. But they're being charged with homicide? Child abuse, sure. Manslaughter, maybe. But legitimate murder charges because they forced their girl to run laps around the yard?

I realize there's plenty we don't know here. The article claims to not know whether she was physically forced to run or just driven verbally, and there's no mention of how quickly she had to "run." If she was whipped into a sprint for three hours, then yes, I understand the charges. But short of that, it seems like an overreaction....not that the punishment for lying about snaking a candy bar wasn't.

Woman is excessively, arrogantly angry. However, that doesn't make the state rep right either. Her position is taken to extreme, but I do agree with her. Unfortunately I'm from the east end of the state, and not Pittsburgh. I learned from an incident in college where I had the audacity to write to a state rep that I thought was mine and whose border actually ends across the street that they will laugh at you if you aren't in their own little gerrymandering borders, so frankly this whole topic is fairly irrelevant if you aren't in the correct part of Pitt.

Are inserts, particularly self-inserts, really so bad? When I read the original work, my thoughts always stray about twice per chapter to "now what would I do if I were there?"

I've never touched the world of fanfic, but after writing a November novel, I've turned to a project of my own to practice my writing skills. I don't doubt it's bad right now, but I'm hoping it gets better over time. But if self-insert fanfics are such a horrible thing, then I guess I'll just keep it to myself forever until the end of days.


That said, any suggestions for fanfics that are actually decent? My primary reading series is The Wheel of Time. I've also read The Sword of Truth (though the most recent book from Goodkind reads like fanfiction itself.) Ages ago I read LotR and Xanth.

Yes, because it usually doesn't respond when I first walk up, so I look up at it like "what's the deal? Open already!" And then it does. Unless the guards forgot to unlock the door.

Vanille, yech. And I may not like that archetype to begin with, but I could stomach Selphie and Rikku and such. Sadly, I used her for my party once I was able to choose simply because her, Fang and Sazh made the best compliment of characters imo, so I had to deal with her even outside of story sequences.

I upgraded from my PS2 specifically so I could download additional songs for GH3 and RB. When I got my 360, I soon bought full versions of Geometry Wars, Castle Crashers and Puzzle Quest.

Edit: Unless MMORPG expansions count. Even then I think I bought boxed copies of everything up until Lich King, which would still be after the release of GH3.

I'm not, and I never wanted to write in a manual. I was just always schooled to never ever write in a book. Unless, of course, it's a book designed to be written in, like a notebook. I always assumed those pages were just filler because they had an uneven number of pages.
