I should warn you. This would be the first time for me to ever play any L4D. But assuming it plays like most Valve made shooters I'll hopefully be able to pick it up quickly.

By the way, Ikon, we ought to play another game sometime. Preferably when I'm back at my desktop, since my laptop overheated like three times when I was trying to make the last moves in our previous game.

Frozen Synapse is definitely worth it at that price. You get two copies, so you can split the cost with a friend.

Trine at $2 is also great.

Has great music and great storybook-like story. There's something really magical about "The Veil"...

The voice acting and the music is what really brought the game alive in my opinion.

Got it in the humble bundle and tried playing it a couple of times but never got that far... it was kinda boring and I didn't really know where to go or why I was doing anything.

Well, it's basically an underwater Metroidvania. You're supposed to explore and ****. If you need motivation pretend there's an aquatic Dracula waiting for you at the end.

I'm guessing you're talking about the Sun Temple boss. A lot of people seem to have trouble with that guy.

That boss and another boss become a bit easier if you use the number keys to change forms instead of singing. Also, there's a few recipes that help, so experimenting with that and bringing the right food can make things easier.

I was gonna get the SMB one until I learned you had to beat all of Hell dark world and the glitch level too, which frustrated me too much (it was actually glitchy and killed me for no reason too many times)

Pretty sure you don't have to do the glitch level, just the light and dark world.

So you don't randomly find keys at all right? You have to buy them?

You gotta buy them or trade for them. Last year they gave everyone a free key for Christmas, so they might do something similar for this summer update.

Bio isn't completely wrong here. Sniper is a good counter to Heavy only if there are areas with good enough sightlines on the map, and a Heavy who knows what he's doing is going to minimize his time in these areas, possibly pulling out the FoS while passing through them.

Regarding spies, Bio, people can only talk after dying if gravetalk is enabled, which it isn't by default. Otherwise only people people who are also dead will here them and/or see their text (unless they're on Mumble or some outside program...). Also, to whoever said to stab the person behind the heavy, unless you have the YER, the loud scream is pretty telling. Especially since that particular scream is only used for crit deaths (which include headshots and backstabs). Still, spy is reasonably effective against heavies, though attentive teammates will make your job significantly harder.

Also Bio, the heavy's turning speed was never limited by anything other than your sensitivity.

Demo is also decent for dealing with heavies since his damage output is so good and you don't have to worry about the heavy dodging your stickies/pipes as much.

But yeah, I don't really like where the heavy is balance-wise.

Heavy is actually limited to 1 in...CEVO, I believe? And I know at least one league is banning the Sandvich. GRU may have also been banned, I think.

Basically, the heavy is not fine in pubs or comp at this point.
