The lack of location testing alone had many in the FGC writing it off entirely, and a lot of people were shocked when it was announced for EVO. Then the prerelease demo came out with balance issues that had people expecting the worst despite assurances from the dev team that it was based on an old build. Then it finally came out, and while not THE MOST FIGHTER EVER, it was completely legit and by far the deepest entry the series had ever seen, just as had been claimed. -- SuperNiceDog didn't have to reconcile his name... I don't know how they can fail to make good money putting out games like MadWorld, Bayonetta, Valkyria Chronicles, Vanquish, Aliens Infestation (when they said Aliens was profitable you know they didn't mean the DS sidescroller that struggled against cancellation), Shinobi, and Binary Domain. I guess their marketing and business sides just don't know what they're doing when it comes to selling these games. Because don't forget, "losing money" doesn't just mean that it cost more to make than it brought in. It can also mean that it made significantly less money than they were expecting it to, resulting in Sega having less money now than they had been counting on. A game can lose money while still being profitable. Then again, if they were realistically evaluating the profit potential of these games, they might not put them out in the first place, so I can't get too mad at them for being clueless. -- SuperNiceDog didn't have to reconcile his name... I'd have to disagree. New IPs this generation include Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, Portal, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Gears of War, Rock Band, and Saints Row just to name a few. Even Call of Duty, while it did exist prior to this generation, didn't become the juggernaut that it is until Modern Warfare (sort of like how GTA existed prior to the PS2 era but was a much different entity prior to GTA3). -- SuperNiceDog didn't have to reconcile his name... I'm sorry but I can't agree. This is my most-dreaded match on the card (at least the Divas match will be over quick, and I won't have to hear fanboys gush about it afterwards), and I can't see what they could do to improve it. Like many others, I don't hate Cena like I did back in the 06-07 days of endless title reigns. But I still only like him as a guy to root against, whether rooting for a more likable opponent to beat him (like CM Punk at Money in the Bank, or Sheamus at TLC in 2009), or rooting for him to betray his character (like during the Nexus storyline). He's not someone I can get behind to actually WIN. So you might think I'd be rooting for the Rock then. In a word, no. I never watched wrestling during the Attitude Era, so this current run is pretty much all I've ever seen of the Rock (at least in a WWE capacity, I've seen a couple of his **ty movies). And apart from MAYBE that first promo when he came back last year (I can't even recall, his boundless tiness has all but erased that from my memory), every single time he's been on my TV in this entire run, I've wanted nothing from him other than to shut up and go away. I think I might have even like Kevin Nash's run last year better than the Rock in this Wrestlemania buildup, and Kevin Nash was probably the worst thing in the WWE last year. So it's a guy I only like to root against vs the guy I can't stand in the least. But a good build could get me past that, right? Too bad this build has been terrible. All it is is telling me how EPIC it will be. Because everything John Cena does is EPIC because he's John Cena, and everything the Rock does is EPIC because he's the Rock, so when they do something together it'll be DOUBLE EPIC. And everything that happens at Wrestlemania is EPIC so this will be TRIPLE EPIC which is of course the maximum amount that EPIC can be. It's the same build they used for Undertaker/Triple H last year and that whole thing was a big fat turd too. I could go on but I think I've made my point. Obscenity is a very controversial one since there are no clear guidelines of what it actually is (the classic "I know it when I see it" ruling), and as a result it is, as far as I know, very rarely applied.
