What is IP again? IP is the other kind of points you earn when you play matches. You earn both XP and IP and IP are the points that you use to purchase runes and champions. Yes, thats right, you have to "buy" the champions, but you get the points for free so its not a bad deal. (You can also spend real money on champion packs if you would rather not take the time to earn them) The point is that you get the IP for free so you should figure out which champions you are good with and spend it on those. When you buy a champion you will have it unlocked on your account forever. And if you don't buy ANY champions, you will still have access to 10 of them. Every week there are 10 "free" champions. But they are only free for the week and 10 different champions will be free the next week. And so if you are level 1 you still have 10 champions available to you and so try them out, figure out which one you might like to spend points on and then buy it.
And so IP is good for Champions and Runes. You can also spend *real money* to unlock champions but you can NOT unlock runes with real money, only IP and so runes have to be earned.
To sum up: You have an account that goes up to level 30 (this is your summoner level) You earn XP (to level up the account) and IP (to buy champions/runes) every time you play a match You have rune pages (with up to 30 slots) You have a mastery page to spec (with up to 30 points) (and you can respec as much as you want)
This is probably a bit over-kill and so if something doesnt quite make sense just ask and someone will clarify. And if you are going to start playing please post: (1) Your GameFAQs name (2) Your Summoner name (this is different than your log-in name) (3) Your preferred champions. Its just nice to know which champions people prefer to play or use the most.
And please BOLD THE INFORMATION so we will see it and update the list accordingly.
1) Post any updates to your champions/etc. BOLD THIS INFO
2) Suggest new topic titles. Here is the list of titles we have 100% used before: If you want me to hit you less, die sooner Time To Feast! Mundo's ABC's of success: Always Be Cleaving Who wants a piece of the champ?! C'mon, I'm not even holding the controls! Only two jokers in the deck and I got dealt you. Time to Feed! Guess what's about to hit the fan. I'm OP? Your MOM is OP!
Get to it!
Edit: and say who the quote is from. We don't want to give the same champions too much use.
I'd take her into a custom game first just to fool around. And if she seems borderline OP she'd be worth pulling out in ranked before people understand how to deal with her.
But I doubt I'll even have 4800 or 6300 farmed up by tuesday or whenever she is released.
We look at them and say 'wtf?' when they go to Hatsune Miku concerts, but I can only imagine what they think when they look over here and see Hannah Montana concerts get sold out.
iirc 'zombies' were part of the reasoning behind its construction and everyone in the town considered it a huge waste of money.
But then it saved the entire town from the tsunami this year.
I've found a few articles about the wall itself, but I seem to remember one being posted on board 8 talk about a zombie-angle and I wanted to show someone that article.
I think the point is that when you are able to understand and execute the things you don't normally do it helps you do your primary role all the better.
1) Shop around (online) for graphics card deals. Post your findings in a topic and someone will be able to translate the specs into "worth it" or "not worth it".
Lopen posted... The HP Gain nerf is huge. The thing most people are complaining about isn't!
Well the stun into a slow was a 'big' deal, but as I said before not eve ending. You can't say it wasn't a big deal though, because that stun instead of a slow prevents spells and summoners and all the things people could have used to save themselves when they would otherwise have died or been chain stunned.
Biolizard28 posted... So I just realized something with the aid of a few B8 pals: I am the worst tank in the universe.
- My first instinct upon seeing a giant mob is to run. - I hate taking damage/never properly measure how much punishment I can take. - I crack under massive pressure. - The enemy team hates Vlad more than me.
As such, I've decided to jump ship to carries/support. Which means I'm in the market for a new champion. I know it's breaking my own rules, but it must be done.
you should learn tanks anyways. Being able to play tanks teaches you a lot about the game and reading situations. You 2nd point is spot on, being able to measure how much punishment you can tank. And it isn't just knowing how much they take, it's knowing how much they deal which means knowing a lot about your opponents capabilities. Developing this skill will help even as a carry or a support. Especially when you are in a situation where your best play is to focus down the tank who doesn't realize he isn't as tanky as he thinks he is.
tcaz2 posted... Okay so assume I wanted to maybe try this game
Assume also that I tried DoTA back a number of years ago like 2 times, got yelled at and /kickbanned because I was new and didn't know how to play it, was hugely put off by the community because of this, and never played again
Would you say I should try this
Stick with FD! But the thing I cannot emphasize enough is that this game is extremely knowledge based when you're trying to get good at it.
Having the reflexes is nice, but if you're using them to do the wrong things then it doesn't matter how fast your eyes are so the first thing is to understand the game to play it well.
Being good at this game just takes a good understanding of the mechanics. It doesn't necessarily rely on being 'good with a character' or 'bad with a character'.
I do recommend trying to narrow down who you will play to just a few champs, but only because getting a strong understanding of one character and how they fit.
But you want to understand mechanics like how to kill minions effectively, but without pushing your lane. How (and WHEN) to harass your opponent in the lane and how to avoid their harass yourself.
And then once you are good at all the things that you are individually responsible for in a game you have to learn and implement the things that are important from a team aspect.
But I guess the point is that you want to focus on understanding the game. It's fine to have a poor individual performance while you are learning as long as you are learning stuff from your games.
Maokai was their 2pick I think? So he probably bullied the karth/corki who were 3/4. In any case neither of them were that great so I guess they belonged bot. They just happened to get shut down ^_^
I was trolling their corki that game. They had a corki/karthas lane bottom (which was pretty bad) and so whenever I would do something to interrupt/distract the corki karthas would pick up the CS. (Karthas was pretty bad).
And so I would stun the corki or heal corki's near-dead target to make him mis-time his CS.
Meanwhile red barely missed a minion for a ton of solid farming time and got built fast.
