Harima episode awwww yeahhhhh. thankfully they have not yet repo'd IMPACT live from the Midwest
Pre-show: Slaughter does a training skit with AMW (C-); Kidman d. Riggs (D+); Gibson is pretty upset with the beatdown last week (C) -Match: Gibson v. Finlay Gibson gets an upper hand, but his offense is cut short by some timely interference from Slater, costing him the win. Rating: C+ -Truth storms into Nixon's office demanding to know what is going to happen in the title picture. Nixon announces that he's putting Truth, Abyss, and Guerrero all into a fatal four-way for Styles' title at Brave New World! And furthermore, he has a blockbuster tag match tonight, as Styles and Abyss will take o- Truth cuts him off, because if he has to team up with Eddie Guerrero ONE MORE TIME he is going to lose it! Nixon ponders his other options, then changes it to a triangle tag match with Styles/Abyss going against Truth, Eddie, and partners of their choice! Rating: B -Match: Awesome d. Michinoku Rating: C+ -Awesome goes for a beatdown, but Tajiri makes the save. Rating: D+ -Match: Papa Shango v. Blackjack Lanza Lanza comes out minus Mulligan, but plus....David "You think it's fake?" Schultz. Lanza seems a bit less animated and more vicious than usual en route to a commanding win. Rating: C -Schultz grabs the mic and announces himself as Lanza's new manager. Mulligan's...unimportant, because Lanza is on his own now. He will no longer be known as a Blackjack, but as Jack...Noir. Lanza menaces in the background as Schultz tries to muster any kind of crowd reaction at all. Rating: D -#1 Contender: Dire Wolves v. MNM Cor Von comes out to hit on Stacy, and then costs Edwards the match after a shouting contest. Rating: B- -Cabana is backstage. Last week, Priceless showed they were serious. They got rid of his friend. That's fine. Those were the terms of the match. But if they want to be serious, if they want to prove themselves the better wrestlers? Colt will be serious. And he is the better wrestler. Rating: C- what an uncharismatic hack -Match: Styles/Abyss v. Guerrero/? v. Truth/? Guerrero brings out Jesse Barr for his monthly five minutes of relevance, and Truth calls...Cody Rhodes. Strangely, this pays off for him, and the two of them nail down a win. Rating: B -Brawl, Abyss clears the ring, yada yada. Rating: C+ Abyss getting stale Post-show: Strike Force and MNM bicker (C+); Freebirds d. Twas another girlfriend anime day.
Maria-sama Season 4 Ep. 2-3 It's been so long and the characters are samey enough that I had trouble remembering who all the secondaries were, and they were kinda the focus these two episodes. There's been a sharp dropoff in how much I like characters...Sachiko's gone from kinda cool if poor at communicating to manipulative jerkface, Toko's gone from...Toko to MORE Toko, and main characterface has gone from kinda adorable and flustery to the same passive-aggressive melodramatic blarg as everybody else in this show. And the gar one doesn't get much screentime these days so that's a wash. :\ All the more to heckle, I guess, which is at the end of the day the main reason we're watching this ever. Gundam W Ep. 1-2 Oh man. This was one of the first manga I ever read, and I had a dickens of a time following all the fight scenes and politics and omg this comic is in black and white. Kinda enjoyed it, but I have always been more of a G Gundam guy and I don't know if that's ever gonna change. This WAS good fun, though. Got some nostalgia juices flowing, and Zechs is just hilariously fabulous. Duo's still the best though. -- ~Tommeri Uranius Bombaldi the Fourth, esq. (aka not Krakenprophet) |

It is time for the culmination of all this new direction stuff: LETHAL LOTTERY
Pre-show: Blackjack Lanza won a battle royal (C+) -Eddie Guerrero starts the show awaiting the partner for his first round match. He reminds all of us that he is going to win this tournament no matter who he draws for a partner! That said, he does look a bit disappointed when his partner is Scotty Riggs. Rating: B- -Round 1: Abyss and Colt v. Guerrero and Riggs Guerrero can't quite carry the deadweight that is Riggs, and Abyss gets the win much to Eddie's chagrin. Rating: C -Guerrero snaps and beats Riggs the hell down! Rating: D+ -Round 1: Morton and Shango v. Morrison and Cor Von No points for guessing that the heels roll. Morrison gets the pin. Rating: B- -Tag Titles TLC: Dire Wolves (c) v. Strike Force v. America's Most Wanted v. Wild Samoans Darned quick match, with Santana picking up the win after a series of bumps. Rating: D+ note to self you can't just stick people in a TLC match -Round 1: Slaughter and Kidman v. Dibiase Jr. and Awesome Overconfidence on the heel side gives Kidman an opening for a rollup and upset win. Rating: C+ Slaughter/Kidman excellent chemistry -Truth is about to go out there and do something that Eddie couldn't....win a round 1 Lethal Lottery match! Rating: B -Round 1: Gibson and London v. Truth and Cody Faces just can't get anything going, with Truth outpacing London and Gibson being generally useless. Rating: B -US Title: Tajiri v. Finlay Few critical hits on some kicks, and we've got ourselves a new champ. Rating: C+ -Morrison and Cor Von are pretty excited about their chances, and also about all the chicks they're gonna get after they win. Rating: C- -Round 2: Abyss and Cabana v. Morrison and Cor Von Back and forth match, with Abyss eventually coming out on top. Rating: B -Round 2: Slaughter and Kidman v. Truth and Cody Cinderella run ends here with authority and a Lie Detector. Rating: C+ -Slater is saddened by the downfall of his protege Finlay, but it is of little consequence in the bigger picture of his ascension to the NLW title! BEHOLD. Rating: B- -World Title: Styles (c) v. Slater Slater gives Styles a run for his money, but doesn't quite seal the deal. Rating: B- Good chemistry, but "work the crowd" was a bad idea. I did some poking around and decided to be more liberal with my agent notes this show. -Lethal Lottery Finals: Abyss and Colt v. Truth and Cody Very back and forth match with tons of near falls in every permutation. Guerrero comes out and jaw-jacks with Truth for a while, causing him to miss Colt's finishing sequence on Cody! HOLY CRAP A TOURNAMENT NOT WON BY HEELS Rating: B Overall: B- SUCCESS lol angles -- ~Tommeri Uranius Bombaldi the Fourth, esq. (aka not Krakenprophet) |

Most of IMPACT is pretty lol, honestly
Pre-show: AMW d. Freebirds, Faces (C); Taka d. Matthews (B-) -Guerrero and Truth are still bickering over last show, with Eddie claiming that he can with Lethal Lottery with ANYBODY. Abyss also comes out to bellow, and the end result is a 3-way tag with completely random partners. Rating: C what poor talkers eddie and truth are -Tag Titles: Dire Wolves (c) v. Speed Muscle Speed Muscle once again impress in what is presented as a jobber match, giving the champs some legitimate competition. Rating: C+ -Cor Von cuts a pre-taped promo from the bar, talking about how he's going to win Lethal Lottery because he's the Alpha Male. He then leaves with an entourage of women. Rating: B- -US Title #1 Contender: Tajiri d. Awesome Rating: C+ Great chemistry -Finlay comes out, and is not impressed. He thinks it's dumb to play up one's nationality for cheap heat, so he's never been a fan of the Golden Dragons, or Tajiri specifically. A title will change hands this Sunday, but it won't be his! Tajiri just laughs off Finlay and dismisses him as a brainless flunky. Rating: C- -THRIVING TAG DIVISION: Hart Dynasty v. Wild Samoans The Hart Dynasty are here! :D ....but they're jobbers. Rating: D They're rusty, too. -AMW come to the ring and try to promo on the Samoans, but a brawl erupts, with Strike Force running out to make it a three way. Rating: D+ -Lethal Lottery Preview: Abyss/? v. Guerrero/? v. Truth/? We've got...Gibson for Abyss, Morrison for Guerrero, and Truth gets....Jesse Barr. Truth is livid, especially after Barr makes it clear that he is supporting Guerrero in this fight. The guy with the not-jobber partner wins! Rating: B- Guerrero/Morrison great chemistry -Styles, Colt, and London cut a brief promo leading up to the next match. Styles gonna beat Slater, and Colt and London gonna somehow both win Lethal Lottery Rating: C -Match: Slater/Priceless d. Styles/Cabana/London Rating: B Post-show: Following fails to beat down Styles (C); Slaughter d. Riggs (D-, poor chemistry) Overall: C+ SUCCESS lol angles Rating: 3.01 -- ~Tommeri Uranius Bombaldi the Fourth, esq. (aka not Krakenprophet) |

Nichijou Ep. 2
Nichijou gained some ground this ep. The Labs remained my favorite (I mean c'mon, +2 cards AND +1 Action?) but the other characters are catching up. The one girl is getting on my nerves less, and I feel like Yukko showed a bit more personality this time. Also, o_O older sister. Sasahara is also pretty great this ep as well, and he could actually wind up one of my favorites. Baroque wig guy needs all the screentime. I wanna see more of Professor and Nano...especially more slice of life-y kinda stuff rather than LOL CAKES, but I ain't complainin' yet. Still going to have some trouble being sandwiched in between the even derpier and more over the top School Rumble and the more cutesy fun Hidamari Sketch, but Nichijou should wind up doing okay enough to avoid a drop. -- ~Tommeri Uranius Bombaldi the Fourth, esq. I really don't know why it does that so often. It differentiates at least a BIT...if nothing else, it always tries to stick tournaments on PPV. But it doesn't seem to mind having title matches on TV either. I feel like maybe they're more frequent on PPV, but there are going to be far more TV shows obviously, and if it doesn't care about when the title changes hands, maybe that's it.
Fed IS about random tag emphasis right now though, I'll give ya that. :D Not sure where I'm going with it after the PPV, but hopefully I can build off that. Because otherwise my midcard is pretty lol. -- http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/5091/tombombadil.png Not pictured: BlAcK TuRtLe |

what is that
Hidamari Sketch Ep. 2 I was worried that maybe I was setting my expectations too high after how much I liked the first ep, but it came through again. Miyako is becoming more and more awesome with time (moment of the episode: her busting into everybody's apartments in search of snow cones) and the whole thing is becoming increasingly adorable. I really enjoy the visual style- there's always SOMETHING happening even during the talky bits, and all the cuts and flashes and whatnot keep things feeling perky without losing too much of that overarching "this is a SoL comedy and nothing more, just chill with us and have fun :D" atmosphere. Also, the constant use of the =D face is pretty great. Yoshinoya is pretty entertaining, too, I reckon...and I liked Sae's detective bits. Are they in high school? I saw apartments and assumed college but the preview mentioned a high school by name, so I dunno. I always forget that boarding schools exist even with how often they pop up in things. -- ~Tommeri Uranius Bombaldi the Fourth, esq. (aka not Krakenprophet) |

School Rumble Ep. 1
The only returning show on the current list. I watched most of the first season and bought the first few issues of manga, but fizzled on both. I do like it, but it's one of those things that I kinda forget how much I like until it's right in front of me. Was into it from the moment the OP hit, though. It'll be interesting comparing my opinions of characters now to what they were back in the day, as my taste has shifted quite a bit- primarily, I think Eri could go from my least favorite to one of my faves, and Tenma has gone from one of my favorites to meh and looks to be coming back around again with the rewatch. Harima, on the other hand, has always been top tier and always will be. So much glorious, over the top, wacky derp. I love it. So much. Not the greatest thing to watch before bed because now I'm all hyped up and stuff, but oh well. >_> Don't have much to say specifically about this episode just because it's pretty much just super exposition mode. -- ~Tommeri Uranius Bombaldi the Fourth, esq. same reason that this no name fed keeps trying to put on IMPACT
we're taking another shot at the midwest tonight Pre-show: AMW think that they're on track to win the tag titles (C); Freebirds think this new tag initiative es dum (C+); Slaughter d. Awesome (D+) -Nixon's pretty excited for Lethal Lottery, so with tonight's main event he hoped to capture the random nature of the tournament, highlight some of its top hopefuls, AND build up Styles and Slater! Rating: B -Thriving Tag Division: Strike Force v. Blackjacks Blackjacks were originally highly likely to win the titles but "oh well" they job here after multiple miscommunications. Rating: B- -The Blackjacks squabble all the way up the ramp. Rating: C+ -Match: Tajiri, TAKA Michinoku, and KENTA v. Cor Von and the Wild Samoans Some feds see a Japanese and make them an evil heel. I see a Japanese and stick them in a stable with the rest and try unsuccessfully to get them all over. Anyway, Tajiri gets a quick win on one of the Samoans. Rating: C -Tajiri announces the beginning of the genesis of the rebirth of the GOLDEN DRAGONS! Taka and KENTA stand around in the background not speaking, but do so in Japanese making this a painfully bad segment. Rating: C- -Tag Titles: Dire Wolves (c) v. Faces of Fear The Wolves actually struggle a bit, but do manage to retain. Rating: C+ -Match: London v. Cody Cody steals a win with a handful of tights. Rating: B+ -Colt comes out to complain, Dibiase comes out to back up Cody, and all four guys argue for a while. Rating: C -Match: Styles and Abyss v. MNM v. The Following v. Truth and Guerrero Even Matthews gets his spots in a highly competitive match. Eddie Guerrero is the one left standing when the bell rings. Rating: B -Guerrero says that there's no greater proof of his chances at Lethal Lottery than to win with THAT idiot as a partner! Truth takes some offense to that, and they bicker until Truth slaps Eddie and bails to the outside as we go off the air. Rating: B- Post-show: Tajiri comes out to mock Finlay and Slater, who are still down, but gets caught and beaten down (C); Gibson d. Riggs (D-) Overall: B- SUCCESS lol angles Rating: 2.88 well those offers could be bad news but Semi keeps not actually managing to get my guys so uh -- ~Tommeri Uranius Bombaldi the Fourth, esq. alrighty watched some stuff with the ladyfriend and that may or may not be all I do today depending on how my shift tonight goes
Durarara Eps. 12.5 and a couple others Never seen the bonus ep, and it was pretty great. Bit difficult to follow, but that's just because I'm kinda dense. S. Heiwajima (c'mon somebody get that man whitelisted already) and the tree was excellent. (EDIT: Also DAT CAMEO) We rewatched a couple of episodes with the dub just because we could. Also, it's pretty impressive how much extra stuff you can catch on a rewatch. Such a great show. :D Maria-sama ga Miteru Season 4 Episode 1 We have been watching this for ages, primarily to heckle it because we're not cool enough to watch it ironically. We apparently had at least started season 4 and just forgotten about it, because we both remembered this episode from just a bit in. We don't remember how far we got on this one, so we just stuck with it. I don't know what it is about slow-paced anime with me- I either love them or hate them. Maria-sama falls into the latter camp for both of us, but we enjoy watching crappy stuff for fun. There are moments where we genuinely care about the characters, but mostly it's just kinda entertaining to watch everybody be melodramatic and crappy about everything. The art style was kinda derpy in earlier seasons, too, but they have since remembered that humans occasionally blink. It is kinda terrifying how everybody is extremely thin and willowy even by anime standards, though. This episode had yet another play, complete with lots of Toko drama "great." We also got to see Sachiko being even more manipulative than usual, and SEI came back to sex everything up or see the festival or something. I don't think there's any more after this season, so time is running out for that giant orgy they've been building towards all series long. :\ Seriously don't think I've ever seen a show with so much unresolved sexual/romantic/bff tension and so little chance of even a whiff of resolution. -- http://www.brawlinthefamily.com/images/Boomganon.png Dang ol' BlAcK TuRtLe man tell you what |

I uh....kinda don't want to see IMPACT
we are trying out the Midwest tonight because I think we've about peaked back home Pre-show: Tajiri brings out TAKA and some other highly regarded Japanese jobber and hints at a Golden Dragons V.2 (C); Blackjacks d. Freebirds via heelery (C); Dire Wolves ran in on Blackjacks (C+) -Match: Truth squashed Gibson Rating: C+ -Truth gonna win Lethal Lottery and then the tournament, cutting through the conspiracy. Wait, no, Eddie is going to win it because he's the only one smart enough to figure out a way to win with whomever he draws. No, Morrison is going to win it because it's a three round tournament and those guys are gonna be gassed after the first match. No, Abyss is going to win it because BLAWWRG. Rating: C -Nixon reports that the tag division has continued to thrive, and as a celebration tonight, we're going to see the tag champs in action against Heath Slater....and AJ Styles! It's already become volatile between the Blackjacks and Dire Wolves, so this is what he is going to do. From now until the PPV, he's going to have a different matchup between two of the new tag teams he's brought in. The three winners will advance to challenge at the PPV in what I hope will be a TLC match! First match is...right now. Rating: B+ -Thriving Tag Division: America's Most Wanted v. Speed Muscle AMW appear to be working face in this match, and get a win through superior power despite the high-flying antics of the Japanese. Rating: C Storm rusty -Martel says that Riggs has been giving him crap backstage ever since their match. Riggs has challenged him to a handicap match tonight, but Martel's not worried because he brought a friend....Tito Santana! Rating: C -Match: Strike Force v. Riggs and the Faces of Fear Martel and Santana get a pretty easy win despite the numbers game. Rating: C+ -Styles finds Slater backstage and cuts the standard "well I don't like you but we're teamed up tonight" promo. Slater responds that Styles will behold all of Slater's majesty and glory tonight, leaving it open as to what that really means. Rating: B- -Match: Colt v. Ted Jr. Botched interference from Cody gives Cabana a much needed win. Rating: B- -Match: Styles/Slater v. Dire Wolves Non-title match because who puts the tag belts on the world champ and his heel challenger. Styles and Slater obviously don't get along, but they are both skilled enough that they don't need to. Slater tags himself in to score the pinfall. Rating: C- man I always forget just how bad the alignment penalty is I was afraid of that -Finlay and Slater ambush Styles after the match, as it was all apparently a clever ruse! Dire Wolves make the save and party in the ring with Styles. Rating: C+ Post-show: London d. Slaughter, Cor Von (D+); Priceless fail a runin on Colt and London (C) Overall: C+ FAILURE..................I didn't even get a lol angles because it was the whole show that sucked <_> Rating: 2.74 awwww my highly shocking takeover attempt failed because they haven't actually declared bankruptcy yet -- ~Tommeri Uranius Bombaldi the Fourth, esq. Yeah, I use Slow Build instead if it goes much over 15 minutes.
Who were you protecting, out of curiosity? Yeah, really depends on the guys. The guys I tend to hire don't tend to need it, but getting dinged for psych hurts, so it'd be a necessity for a greenhorns match. Conversely, there's Call In Ring for guys with awesome psych.

I wouldn't think Keep Strong would hurt things all that much...I use it mainly for strong showing losses, like Eddie losing a tag match because he has to carry Barr or Abyss coming in second in a battle royal after killing everybody. I never think to use Script...my guys rarely get dinged for psychology except like Styles/Truth which kinda sucks. Protect is also kinda rare but it's useful for ring rust or for guys like Mr. Wrestling II who blow up walking to the ring because they're like 55. >_> Hardly ever use Overbook unless there's a storyline reason for it AND the match is gonna suck, which rarely coincides.

booking like RAW really creates a problem, because RAW/SD itself only hand 100min content, so those extra 20 mins of ads, are needed for longer matches.
Are there really 20 minutes of commercials in two hours of Raw? That's kinda unfortunate. I've heard it rationalized that the commercial breaks are made out of the spare seconds in matches (like when you book it to go 15 and the official timestamp is like 14:26) -- ~Tommeri Uranius Bombaldi the Fourth, esq. What if I want to play it as a business management sim, where I deal with the roster/finances/TV deals and not the part where you have to be creative.
Personally, I don't think the business side of things is deep enough for that to be a particularly appealing option anyway. >_> I would mainly use the feature for booker's block or when I wanna skip Smackdown to get to Raw/NXT/the PPV. -- ~Tommeri Uranius Bombaldi the Fourth, esq. and I don't usually go into much detail with agent notes either
specify winner allout or slow build for ME interference/tainted win/specific finishes/etc where applicable keep strong/burial/protect in rare special cases domination for squashes open match if I am trying really hard to push a jobber by having him fight somebody higher up specify loser if half of a team is out of control or something The majority of my matches just get a Victor note. -- ~Tommeri Uranius Bombaldi the Fourth, esq. Time settings really don't bother me at all. Once you get used to it, it's almost automatic. I know Impact runs 90 minutes, so my match ratio dictates a 63/27 split. 6 and 4 are cutoffs for certain things (I am told that angles or wrestling times need to be over 4 minutes to affect popularity and 6 to affect skills), so I've settled on divvying up my angle time 7/6/6/4/4 almost all the time. Unimportant or squash matches get 6-8 minutes of wrestling time, normals get 9-12, my ME gets 15-20, and I can tweak as needed to fit things exactly. Fill the pre-show with an 8 minute match and two 6 minute angles, slap whatever random crap I feel like after, and I'm good.
granted I have done this dozens and dozens of times so -- http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/5091/tombombadil.png Not pictured: BlAcK TuRtLe |
