Nice to get a few answers, but he still playing the innocent card.
My big problem is (and he does state it at the end) is he kept going forward with it once he knew about the problem and that money hadnt been donated. once you know of a problem and that you havent kept your word to the donators, he should have let people know what was going on, and then stepped back to resolve. Not keeping people in the dark
