I've got a few, I'll post pics of them later. I have no idea what kind of guitars they have.

But what's a good guitar for beginners to start off with? What about for playing punk rock? Shoegaze? I want to finally learn this year.
my first guitar was a mexi fender strat. i almost exclusively play punk/pop punk on it lol. like BucketCat said, Telecaster also really good (Sum 41), Strat (Green Day/Blink), epi les paul (basically everyone else)

Very nice!

Is that the Taylor you had your eye on?
Thank you!!

For the most part it is what I was looking at. It was between the 314 in the OP (spruce top) and American Dream 24 (mahogany top). Ended up going for the 324 which is all mahogany yet still has a great dynamic range. Sounds incredible.

some acoustic made by Harley Benton. It sounds really good but the scale length is 22" so it feels cramped.

Also a strat that a friend put together for me. it sounds like a strat (kind of. I did the wiring and the neck pickup sounds fat and creamy like a JM rhythm circuit, middle sounds chunky and blocky, bridge has that Jaguar jangle/glittery sound), but has a Jazzmaster/Jaguar Tremolo system. It's cool cus in 2-pickup configs (position 2 and 4), it ignores the middle. 2 is Neck+Bridge, 4 is Neck+Bridge phase reverse (like on a Fender Mustang)
I love the guitar but I hate setting it up.

I've had a few Jazzmasters, Mustangs, and Jaguars in the past, but I regrettably sold them. Now it's kinda hard to find those left-handed without paying a ton of money, so I don't think I'll ever have one again.

Also pictured are my Polyend Tracker and Elektron Digitone, which is what I use for 90% of the music I make. Guitars are kinda just recorded into the Polyend as samples then get chopped up.
lefty or am i tripping??

My first ever guitars were an Alvarez RD8 acoustic, and a Mexi Fender Strat. Later in life in treated myself to an Epiphone LP.

I'm interesting in upgrading my acoustic guitar. Obviously 99% of my decision will come from going in and playing a bunch of guitars, but I'm curious the consensus on here.

I'm not in a band or anything so I wouldn't necessarily need it to be electric, but I have considered it. I have my eyes on something like this to start out:

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/314ceSSBrst--taylor-314ce-studio-special-edition-acoustic-electric-guitar-tobacco-burst (There's a similar one at a local shop that is less expensive)

Tell me about your guitars and what you like and don't like about them CE.

I actually find it interesting Palworld is still a thing lol. When it came out I thought it was more of a meme thing - over-the-top Pokemon with guns. But I understand it was actually a solid core game. Hadn't heard much about it recently though. Def will check it out more now.

Also, stupid question, does S/V look good when connected to a big TV? Or is it supposed to be more in the spirit of playing on the handheld. I've never really played Switch but my gf got Harry Potter for it (before we got a PS5) and it looks like ass Xd

Getting so much whiplash. Thanks for all the intel.

I'd also love to be immersed in a good story. Not necessarily just go through the motions of a typical Pokemon game. If S/V scratches that more storytelling/cinematic itch then I'd be interested in trying. People seem to be pretty polarized on what they like more.

I sort of don't have the conviction to dive into modding/Palworld, sort of more into just getting a base Pokemon game and enjoying the adventure.

Now I'm really interested in Arceus.

Maybe I just try both; that and SwSh. It sounds like S/V is worth passing on for now.

One thing I did hear was how easy SwSh was? Like there was hardly any challenge. Not that the OG Pokemon were particularly hard either.

I'm also sort of removed from all the starters, and which one I'd like. Sun/Moon I've seen mentioned as a good gen before too.

Try positioning it differently. Don't place it on your phone and then adjust to where it's stuck there; hold the phone in one hand like you feel comfortable, and then place the pop socket where you'll be able to grip it with two fingers while still able to use your thumb on the screen without stretching. Don't worry about if it's centered perfectly or not.
the thing is i have a wallet one, so it really only goes in one spot, right in the center. i can collapse it and use it mostly as normal so its not a huge deal, but then i feel like why even have it if its not going to be used

ill have to see if it becomes useful in other scenarios

Pop sockets are for teenaged girls.

And phone wallets just increase your potential risk. If you lose your phone, you can use your wallet to buy a new one. If you lose your wallet you can use your phone to cancel ur cards and whatnot. If you lose both at the same time you're hecked
im not really factoring in what happens if i lose my phone. that would suck more than losing my wallet somewhere. and the wallet would only hold like my ID and maybe 1 or 2 other cards, it wouldnt be too devastating

teenage girls are onto something
