They be like "Ok so for this one you need to fo this impossible thing that takes 20 seconds. And for this other one you need to do this really really easy thing but it will take 40 hours of grinding."

Stupid fucking blitzball

I've done these challenges multiple times in my life, in particular the Chocobo race for Tidus' weapon. Lol did it for a few of my friends who had trouble with it too.

And yet here I am getting annoyed with all these damn minigames in FFVII Rebirth. There is just too damn many of them that I have to worry about getting high scores on.
Every time you read this, squirrels randomly burst into flames. Think of the squirrels.
-Play exhibition games and instantly forfeit against Al Bhed until Nimrook the goalie only has one game left (You can check in the airship), save and reload until he quits the next game and you can sign him. He's busted.
-Tiddus with Jecht Shot at the front. Wedge and Shaami (Both in Luca) are also pretty good at shooting early on.
-Brother (Driving the airship) swims really fast, put him in the middle.

-Swim into your own goal to confuse the enemy AI and run down the clock.
-Put two players you want to level near the back and spend a whole half a game just passing back and forth for exp.

Edit: First thing you should do is sign whoever and release the Aurochs as soon as possible. This is helpful and funny because it causes the other teams to occasionally drop legit players and sign Aurochs.

Will take a while but it should be easy and hopefully fun.
Still waiting on that third threat
I got all of them pretty easy except I never did get the 200 lightning strike dodges

>Cue running in circles in Yojimbo's Cave for three hours because RNG decided it wasn't going to give me Tonberries I needed to capture.

I can appreciate what they were going for, but it often felt to me like it railroaded me into the characters that were easy to get the fully powered weapons for.
I replayed FFX recently and decided I was going to do the optional stuff I never did before and a lot of it I just ended up giving up on because it was too tedious.

Except blitzball. It took a few matches for me to start to get the hang of it but once I did I really got into it and ended up playing it a bunch.
"It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life."
I took the time to get all the weapons and sigils just to do nothing with them. Didn't have the patience left to do all the monster grinding shit.
I agree with you, Blue. - FinalRockerdude, Vgmasta, ZeldaFan42, ObservanTeMK, Magoo111, E121Phi, re4master543, PJiddy, bloodmage3 (cont. in quote)
Ive still never beaten the Chocobo catcher for Tidus. I have an almost perfect save file where I have everything else and all the arena monster beaten but cant beat that damn race.

I pretty much have a dream team - nimrook is busted, brother is super busted, wedge is a one trick pony, ropp is ok, tidus' stats are meh but his jecht shot is the most broken thing ever

But replaying leagues to get the right prize? So boring.

Blitzball is one of those things that starts out very rough (the storyline required match, that you luckily don't have to win, demonstrates this readily to most players) but gets easier and easier the more you do it, assuming you know how to work its XP system.

I don't remember all the fine details behind it, but I do remember that you want to pass the ball as much as possible. Even if it's to the point where you're not scoring and not winning the matches, every pass you do is XP for your fielders. Just hot potato the ball inbetween whoever doesn't have opponents immediately near them, potentially pausing only to lure opponents away from other fielders. Nap skills, if you have them, can help with keeping the opposition off of you. As long as the opponent isn't interfering with your pass, it will usually succeed, unless their PA is low and the pass is of particularly long distance. All the passing you're doing will get you XP (using pass skills if you have them, even if they aren't necessary, also gives more XP), and all the time spent by the opponent not being in control of the ball will mean they don't get as much XP. Gradually you will level past them and you'll gain an edge.

The goalie can't get in on this action unfortunately, so make sure to shuffle the positions around so that they don't lag behind.

Honestly was able to get Tidus, Wakka, Luna, and Auron Ultimate weapons and crest and sigils legit use a codebreaker for the rest.
Best damn game about Ninja http://www.i-mockery.com/minimocks/ninjagolf/ninjagolf-flashgame.php
Whats the point of torturing yourself to get these? Can you not beat the monster arena bosses without them? Penance?

Literally no logical reason other than it annoyed me that I never completed it before

Blitzball I had fun with so I didn't mind the grind for that

The chocobo races is so damn RNG. On some replays I can get it without too much time investment and others I can't get it and get frustrated lol

The butterflies tho...fuck them butterflies lol
My expectations they are low
But you're the sun you make them grow

You can make weapons that have similar (or even better) mods, but celestial weapons all have a hidden property of ignoring the target's defense, something no other weapons can inherently do and is helpful when trying to hit for 99,999 (which Break Damage Limit lets you do and is inherent on all celestial weapons as well).

Of course, if what you're using the character for doesn't involve using their weapon to physically attack, that hidden property may not actually be useful.
Oh, Blitzball. It's been like 20 years so I could be remembering wrong, but I recall having Tidus basically making shots from the opposite side of the sphere. I would get like 3 goals and then pass to my fastest swimmer, who would just do laps until time ran out.

Blitzball goes from this team sucks, to we can win but it's hard, to hey this is easy, to okay I'm bored now the other team can't do shit.
Bosses are immune to the eat command so it won't be possible to end the final boss fight of the game by eating it.

Weirdly blitzball is getting harder again. I uses to win every game 5 nil or more, last few have been 2 nil.

I don't understand how Japan likes those types of challenges. It's not fun, it's just pure frustration. I did them once back in the PS2 days. Never again. I never beat the monster arena, which sounds fun, but fuck getting all those ultimate weapons again.

blitzball was super easy for me. i was playing a lot anyway so it was no issue. lightning bolts was horrible. and the butterflies were horrible just because perspective made it impossible. may as well have made them invisible mines i need to memorize the route around

I got the platinum, but I remember beating the game at around 70 hours, and 100%/ Plat almost 70 hours later, even with prep

Blitzball and filling out the sphere grid took forever.

Blitzball - 6 hours
Other dumb mini games - 4 hours
Capturing monsters - 15 hours
Sphere grid grind to match Dark Aeons - 30 hours
Sphere grid completion for every character 10 hours

Actually fighting the Aeons and Penace - 3 hours at best

I love FFX, but it did not respect your time at all. That's why I don't bother with 100% anymore. FFX-2 is even worse

Yeah I finished that game recently for the first time. I saw the requirements for some of those, laughed and said "fuck no."

Good game tho.

I absolutely agree. Such a bad perspective. Constantly looks like there is room, but nope, you touched it.
The ball is round, the game lasts 90 minutes. That's fact.
Everything else, is theory.

It's for these reasons (well most of them, I only ever played the original PS2 release) that FFX holds the distinction of being the first RPG that I ever clocked over 100 hours on a single playthrough. Even FF7 with all its minigames, sidequests, and level grinding to beat Emerald and Ruby never pushed me higher than 50 or 60 hrs per playthrough.

Of course those number became positively quaint once I got addicted to Elder Scrolls / Fallout games and started sinking several hundred hours into each playthrough.
Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read.
Part of the reason I straight up don't like the game.
