Whether it's beating a very difficult game, getting 100% on a game, getting a speedrun finished, doing some sort of challenge run, etc.

I'm not really the type to go for 100% clears a lot, but I enjoyed Kid Icarus: Uprising so much I was compelled to get all the Achievements without using the skips. Towards the end of that I was genuinely worried it wasn't healthy... (the second to last level on the hardest difficulty is absolutely brutal).
Okay, I rolled a 14. What's that mean? Hsu
That you're a cheater. This is a 12-sided die. Chan
Two that spring to mind for me are Batman: Arkham Asylum 100% All Achievements or Resident Evil 5 Professional Solo. Two torturous but somehow enjoyable experiences I never want to go through again! Those challenge maps on AA especially had me pulling my god damn hair out.
I've decided to put my fears behind me. I'm not going back.

180 emblems in Sonic Adventure 2

finishing the extra stage in Imperishable Night
The only certain death in the universe is Mother Hitton's Littul Kittons.
Not changing this line until I beat Seven Heroes (2/24/07) - Fulfilled 2/20/18
Off the top of my head it might be 100%ing Action Henk (including all Rainbow medals). Game gets super hard near the end and a lot of casual players straight up don't finish the game (and then complain about it in the Steam reviews).

Possibly some miscellaneous scores/times in various IL games that I've played. Maybe some difficult Mario Maker levels as well.
Hey man, LlamaGuy did encrypt the passwords.
With what? ROT-13? -CJayC
None of these are particularly noteworthy but I guess my best are completing Aria Low % in Necrodancer, getting 100% in Super Meat Boy (though I think you can go above 100 if you do even more hardcore stuff), and, I suppose, clearing DSR and TOP ultimates on-patch in FFXIV (also week 1 cleared all savage raid tiers for Endwalker) (I guess clearing the second raid tier is kind of a big one considering the devs nerfed it a week later and apologized for tuning it to be too hard)
Still consider completing all the Very Hard story chapters in F-Zero GX to be my hardest gaming accomplishment

I also managed this. I did not realize this was a hard feat!
2 line break(s), 160 characters allowed
Probably hitting Challenger rank in Teamfight Tactics

I thought it was extremely hard! Especially that last section with those huge doors before Wesker, HOLY SHIT

Got to where I could beat Super Meat Boy in just under twenty-four minutes (any%) earlier this year. There's not a specific 'achievement" with that per say, but it's probably the best I've ever been at a game.

Congrats to azuarc for winning the GotD 2020 Guru Contest!
I've done a 5 hour speedrun of Blast Corps 100%, which is something that most people can't even do in their lifetimes at all, and I feel pretty good about that.

There's probably other difficult shit I've done but that's the first thing that comes to mind.
I got all the trophies in Star Ocean Til the End of time.

Not only is it time consuming, difficult and straight up dumb at times but you have to store it on a separate PS2 memory card because of how huge the file takes up.

The hardest part for me was the train yard with the dogs chasing you and then the rotating platform boss. Those two sections had me resetting so much!
2 line break(s), 160 characters allowed
Either Crash N. Sane trilogy full completion, or Halo Reach solo legendary

Hardest thing I've ever done in a video game is probably MGS4 Big Boss Emblem. I really hated the car chase sections, those took me almost an entire day of timing the QTEs.
2 line break(s), 160 characters allowed
Probably something like Doing Things The Hard Way in VVVVVV or getting the Sun Sigil (chocobo racing) in FFX.

azuarc is OP.
Getting through all the B and C sides in Celeste.
I don't really do "hard things" in games, so I'd struggle to name anything that'd actually be worth mentioning.

Probably beating Megaman Zero without using any cyberelves. It wasn't as some sort of self-imposed challenge, I just didn't realize they gave you permanent power ups. :|

Actually, I guess a decent one would be inputting a code to start DMC3 Dante Must Die mode without any upgrades, then beating it.

I was extremely good at a competitive puzzler about 15 years ago (basically a competitive form of Puzzle Bobble), winning several events with in game prizes that I sold for chunks of cash. I also got to high diamond in League of Legends in 2014, and I reckon I was the best player in Europe on my not very popular main champion (I was certainly in the top 10).

In terms of single player games, probably getting the platinum for Crash 4. Very long with a lot of tough time trials and all boxes/no death gems.
We are living our lives
Abound with so much information
Probably Metroid Fusion 1%, though strictly speaking I'm not sure it was harder than some regular playthroughs of other games were (looking at you, Hollow Knight 112%)
"You're childish. What are you getting? Are you getting strawberry? Ha! That's such a childish flavor, only children eat strawberry."
Maybe 100%ing VVVVVV. Mostly slightly-above-average difficulty, but there are a couple of notoriously blood-boiling rooms. So until I think of something else that's my answer.

100%ing Ocarina of Time without any guides (or near enough to it, I now know as an adult I was missing the deku seed upgrade from the theater grotto in the Lost Woods, and other things that dont count towards item percentage like the Hylian Loach or Scarecrow's Song)

yeah, I'm not a leet gamer so my answer is probably something pedestrian like getting the good ending in Hollow Knight
while you slept, the world changed
The vast majority of it was more of a timesink than actually difficult, but Im #6 on my server and top 300 globally for achievements in FFXIV (at least among people that have them public)

Either getting the platinum in FFX HD or clearing the Farewell chapter in Celeste; neither one is completely fair--I used a guide for parts of FFX & I did look up how long the final stretch in Celeste was because I was starting to break and had to know if I was even close to the finish. Still, they were big accomplishments for me.

Beating Challenge Mode in Ninja Gaiden Sigma for PS3. I think it was Challenge Mode... It took me all of Labor Day weekend to beat back in 2009.

Also, beating Fire Emblem Conquest on Hard/Classic without cheesing the final battle.
~Jacksonville Jaguars~
Only thing that really comes to mind is beating the last Pantheon in Hollow Knight or clearing Through the Fire and Flames on Expert
MZero , to the extreme

Platinum trophy in Celeste I suppose.

Not really sure because this isn't an area I tend to focus in - I'm a completionist but I don't tend to go too out of my way for challenge runs. So I guess it's probably one of the following:

  • 100 Super Jumps in SMRPG (SNES, if it matters, don't know if they made it easier in the remake; haven't played it)
  • Sub-30 minutes OoT any% and... damn I forget my MST times. Sub-30 was early into the Wrong Warp discovery and the MST ones were the route before WW. Times were nowhere near WR to be clear I just did it for fun, but I don't think they were bad times either given that.
  • Platinum in Bloodborne (No online or summons, ran through NG+ and NG++ fully, including DLC to get the other trophies)
  • Completed DS1, DS2, DS3, Sekiro without online or summons.
  • All Emblems in SA2

wait never mind just remembered

I was third on the MvC3 360 leaderboards at one point. Mostly carried by a bad matchmaking system, a knowledge check team strategy no one else used, and a bad netcode, but it's still kind of an accomplishment?

Aside from that... Speedlunky, I guess?

I got 194 berries in Celeste (so most of the goldens, just missing some of the later B sides and Farewell). I also broke into the top 500 for a few weeks on the original Overwatch back in 2019, albeit on EU console servers.
Perhaps the golden rock was inside us all along.
Beating the #1 Smash 64 player in my state (at the time) 1v1

I've played Mario Kart Tour for awhile and got top 100 in two of the tours, without spending too much. Also beat the Extreme Challenges.

Beat all the puzzles in several puzzle games without help: Crashmo, Pushmo World, Fire 'n Ice
