Ive seen a lot of stuff talking about what is great, but what is generally the worst?

I remember a song from Yoshis New Island that I cant remember off the top of my head sticking out here but Im curious what other songs are out there.

The Chrono Cross regular battle theme

It's probably not the actual worst song but it's unforgivable in a game with such a great soundtrack for such a bad song to be the one you hear the most

It's far from the worst, but I've always felt the FFX basic battle theme was super overrated and slow and you hear it SO MUCH

Don't mean to dump on you specifically here because this is a pretty widely-disliked one, but I will go to bat for this song every time. It takes a truly joyless individual to hear this dinky little kazoo song meant to demonstrate that the Yoshis are goofy little guys and go "wow this song is bad and I don't think Nintendo realizes it! Can't believe they published this one!!"

Oh yeah and reminder that the RE: Director's Cut Dualshock Edition OST is credited to the guy who spent almost two decades pretending to be deaf composer and most of his stuff was ghostwritten by another person entirely. We don't know whether this was an actual work of his or ghostwritten.

The book Itchy, Tasty which is a retrospective on the first 10 years of RE with actual interviews with series creators makes it pretty clear that the DualShock OST was composed by both Mamoru Samuragochi and Takashi Niigaki (his prominent ghost-writer) and that the really shitty tracks were largely the former's work.

The Yoshi Clan one is pretty bad, isn't it....? It's probably worse than anything I can come up with. Well, there are probably some bad NES tunes, like.... maybe this one.

I don't know the song name but one time I was watching a Mario & Luigi stream and had to mute it after a while. IIRC even streamer wound up muting the game eventually

This is bad because it plays EVERYWHERE in the postgame, replacing the overworld music, so you hear this endlessly
And this is in the worst game in the series and also the one that takes the longest to 100%
