that first match is brutal
i feel a bit bad siding against beat the diamonds' underdog run here but i can't just abstain with my one nom with the best shot at retirement in years... (especially since btd may well be the favourite here anyway. also of course it's hardly the only song i have left but it's the only one i think has any chance at not losing in its remaining 2 matches in its quadrant tbh. desert duo definitely isn't beating tfat/dialga even if it can somehow make it over golden rule, and sm64 ending is looking shockingly strong this year so i have strong doubts natalie can overcome it... and most of my supports are also looking vulnerable now... save i guess for the ones in B4 which are comprising 3/4 of the songs somehow on top of looking like favourites to take all of B in at least 2 of those cases. of course this isn't very important anyway when i'd be fine with seeing 80% of the remaining songs win (including everything today) lol but i digress. pushing cleopatra as far as i can)

i love the vibrancy of the destiny's child art. the rendering of those eyes carrying so much joy! it really elevates the wonderfully energetic jazz sound of ragna breakers. unfortunately, i feel stronger about the consistency of crystal caves.

despite having a title that suggests a warm colour palette, its hard for me to listen to subterranean sunrise and not think of the beautiful shade of purple gracing the album art. such a moody piece of music.

sad to vote against for you and beat the diamonds, both songs that have grown on me over the course of the competition.

Ragna Breakers is such a peppy and fun song. I really vibe with it, and . well. good ass guitar. Crystal Caves is a nice song, I like its melody, but I definitely don't really get the "definitely retiring+" hype.

-- Match 2: Beat the Diamonds vs. SHININ' QUEEN --
Beat the Diamonds has such a good melody man. It's going all out for a fully chiptune piece. SHININ' QUEEN is certainly catchy too, very much so. But I think Beat the Diamonds speaks to me moreso. Today is such a better day than the first two of this round.

-- Match 3: Subterranean Sunrise vs. for you. --
Whaaat a match. Two songs I've kept coming back to here, and pretty much the one solace of how Bracket A has gone for me so far. They're probably my two favs left lol, Subterranean Sunrise starts a bit slow but gets so cool with its definitely-not-4/4 switchups and campy, almost cold synthy style. And for you. is just classic B8core brilliance, it has a surprising amount of variety to back up its doing it's thing so well and the backwards lyrics is so cool to me. Going for you., and it winning Bracket A is not only my prediction but my ideal at this point, we'll see how it goes. Please one of these retire at least, though.
