We haven't had one of these for a month but with premiere day in under a week, I thought I'd make it now and ask the usual question. Poor Woo can't catch a break after that Cagayan poll.
On the docket: We have both
Big Brother 24
and
The Challenge USA
premiering next Wednesday,
Survivor SA9: Return of the Outcasts
starting July 18th, and
Survivor 43
and
Amazing Race 34
both starting September 21 (two hour Survivor; each show will also have a 90-minute 2nd episode the next week!!!!). Oh and throw
Love Island
in there somewhere, but nobody here cares about that.
Oh, and a reminder about spoilers policy:
Please use spoiler tags for Big Brother feeds spoilers
that have yet to air in an episode. Episode happenings do not need spoiler tags, so please do not enter the topic before you've seen the episode. Additionally, please use spoiler tags for Survivor SA discussion, as it is an international edition not readily viewable for everyone.
News that I don't believe we discussed:
-
Derek X and Claire on Amazing Race together
-
Omar accusing Drea of making malicious racist remarks at Ponderosa and CBS subsequently covering the entire thing up to confirm its truthfulness
-
Survivor 43 continuing with the stupid "Monster format" with Shit in the Dark, Do or Die, "earn the merge" and other rubbish the fans dislike all returning
-
Tough as Nails has been ordered for two more seasons; season 4 is probably starting production now that Phil's back from TAR34
-
Nobody still gives a shit about Beyond the Edge
-
Other things I'm probably missing
Excited for Survivor SA9 and I'll give The Challenge a chance but can't say I'm anticipating for BB24, S43, or TAR34 much. Each show lost me for a different reason. BB for redundant casts, predictability, and level of time commitment for little payout. Survivor for excessive, egregious twists that make it a game of random chance instead of one of sociopolitical intrigue. And Amazing Race for the repetitive format, going to the same places again and again to do menial tasks rather than showcase culture, plus they falsify a "race to the finish" at every single Pit Stop even if teams are two hours apart. None of these provide the intellectual stimulation that they once did.
Am I the only one feeling this way? Ah well... I needed to get that off my chest. I'm hopeful you guys will tell me that one of them ends up being good enough to catch up on.
