I quit Hearthstone recently and I'm having trouble finding a game I can pop in and play for an hour when I'm bored on my days off or before bed.

What do you play when you don't necessarily want to sit down and actually play a real game but you need to kill a few hours?

I've been playing Mahjong if I've got 30 minutes to kill. Liked it enough from playing Yakuza that I decided to keep playing it even though I really haven't got any better at it.

I don't really have one atm. Thinking about making it Splatoon 3 when that comes out

roguelites are generally pretty good for this (lately vampire survivors)

I've played a TON of Roguelites over the years so I'm a little stale on the genre lately. Also not huge on FPS but I do play Overwatch when there's a weekly event skin to work toward. I have trouble playing OW when my arcade boxes for the week are done though.

I did play Splitgate and Apex for a while and had fun with those but FPS can be a little intense when I'm trying to wind down.

Maybe it's time to start getting back into fighting games? Haven't played one seriously since the beginning of Street Fighter 5.

Still Stardew Valley. I have around 300 hours on my main farm and I usually just play 2 or 3 in game days at a time

This has been mine for about 5 years now, but I'm finally kinda falling out of it

The most recent was Pokemon Unite but I haven't really played that since December

have been rotating between shadowverse (on and off), pkmn unite and recently have been back on 100% orange juice and touhou ibunseki: ayaria dawn recreation (aka. monopoly but touhou with nukes)

i'd still be playing genshin if i could still run it smoothly :(

also speaking of monopoly it's not really a good thing that they've been monopolizing my time lately with the other stuff i've been buying lately oops. i am a slave currently to dailies

Storybook Brawl

Why? No idea, but it helps ease out an hour or two of gaming and allows me to keep up with discord chats or conversations. It likes crashing on me when I play videos, so it's not as good as past games I used less-to-play and more to listen to podcasts or Critical Role.

Graveyard Keeper, at the moment.

There are better Harvest Moonlikes, but given it saves after any period of time sleeping instead of needing a full day, and you have to wait certain days for certain NPCs anyway, and stamina gets consumed so quickly, I can easily accomplish one goal in that game for the six-day week and spend the rest of the time working towards fishing achievements.

I really hope the endgame isn't on an unseen time limit, though.

Storybook brawl is also fantastic.

I have 170 hours on it and it has gotten a little stale, but every once in a while you hit some completely wild comp you havent ever had before, like a wonder waddle treasure map into 3 blind mice enbiggening stone on 3.1 and suddenly you are combining 30/30 animals and laughing maniacally

Yeah I agree there are way too many.

But luckily you can achieve most platinums without getting the DLC trophies.

Although it does look weird that I have the platinum but only got 44% of the trophies

It's actual Mahjong, not the solitaire game. It's also free, though there's a nearly endless amount of ways to spend money on waifu cosmetics.

It's by far the best riichi simulator around unless you can read Japanese or have an overly strong hatred for anime girls and styling.

It's Japanese Riichi Mahjong and also free on either phone or browser. It monetizes with gacha elements but obviously since its just mahjong those are just cosmetics (characters to play as, tile sets, etc) so 100% optional.

Very anime, as Reg said though.

Sounds like I should try out Storybook Brawl (I did see Kripp playing it recently and it looked fun) or actually spend some time learning Teamfight Tactics. I tried to play TFT once and I was so overwhelmed it did not feel very good. There's really no easing into the strategy of that one it felt like.

Also Monster Train, Everybody Saves the World, and Vampire Saviors are on my list of games to get so those would be nice.

Not too into Mahjong but it's really interesting to see how many of you play that Mahjongsoul game.

Currently it is Leaf Blower Revolution.

I can't really call it a fun game, but it does scratch the 'numbers go up' itch. Has quite a bit more complexity to it than I initially presumed. Probably not gonna captivate me for long though.
