I always wondered if the game was actually good or if it was just streamer bait
I almost always see "streamer bait" to refer to either unscripted multiplayer chaos games (lethal company esque stuff) or lose-all-progress style ragegames (e.g. getting over it). So in that respect I don't think the term fits here at all.
I liked it well enough, not amazing or anything but I'd at least call it "good" rather than "bad". Definitely don't think it was worth GotY that one time. I'd say it's best part is just the sheer variety of stuff in the game - there's so many vastly different environments that all look quite nice, tons of themed and inventive mechanics for each one, and dozens of silly little optional hidden minigames. In just the first few hours you have sections that are 3D exploration/platforming, 3rd person shooter, boat/car driving, 2D fighting game, a handful of various puzzle boss fights, etc etc
This is also sort of related to its worst part though which is that every game mechanic is only explored at a very surface level before it gets tossed aside for the next one. It's like a sampler platter of ideas that never goes any deeper and as a result there is no difficulty, mastery of the game, or remotely complex thought/action ever required.
Game also gets like an automatic +2 to fun value by being forced co-op though since everything is more fun with a friend
