I don't think we're quite boomer enough for this to get the reaction you want.

It would depend. Does trump put both socks on before his shoes, or does he do one sock one shoe, one sock one shoe?
Just a nobody. (They/Them)
Who? Is this a friend of yours TC? I'm sorry that he is no longer around.

Today's Trumpers are the same kind of people that said "Archie Bunker for president" 50 years ago.
"The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command." -- 1984
I think Archie mellowed over time that he might not be MAGA.

Season 1 Archie ...sure, but probably not the Archie that raised Stephanie.

Edith: "But Archie, I think people should be able to live their lives in any way they want as long as they're peaceful about it "

Archie: "Come on Edith, there ain't nothing peaceful like about it. What with them always gettin' all offended like because they don't like what gonads God gave 'em."

Edith: "Well Archie, if they want to go nads, I think that's their own business."

Its a character from an old sitcom in either the 1950s or 1960s. I know some vague things about him but have never actually watched the show

I'm decently young, and I watched pretty much every episode of All in the Family on TV Land. That and Sanford & Son were great shows, and I think they've aged pretty well for being products of the '70s.

Ironically given how conservative Archie Bunker, the actor was pretty liberal IRL.
It's amazing how people hang around message boards of games they don't like

Rob Reiner has often said Carrol O'Connor was even more liberal than he was. A lot of Mike's dialogue was based on what O'Conner was saying while reading the paper in the writers' room.

Lots of actors are like that. Like the main bad guy in the Avatar movies that evil soldier guy, said that in real life he would fight for the Navi.

And the guy who played Freddy Krueger was actually a really nice man in real life.

I think same with the guy who plays Art the Clown in the Terrifier movies

Archie would but Carol OConor would not, and thats all that matters
while driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road and I instinctively swerved to miss it, thanks a lot Mario Kart.
Archie Bunker's wife Edith befriended a transwoman who became a reoccurring character. Then she was brutally killed off-screen in a hate crime that destroyed both Edith and Archie. I think that would affect him with how he sees MAGA.

70's and really early 80's

All In The Family is one of the all-time great sitcoms.

Is the show set in the 50s or 60s? Maybe that's why I got confused
He'd talk about going to Jan 6, but something would keep him from attending, so he'd watch on TV. When the violence starts, things would get quiet on the set - we'd get plenty of shots of Edith looking distraught, and Archie looking confused. It would end up being one of those episodes where we see another piece of Archie's naivety and backwardness get chipped away.

No, it was set when it aired. That was the point, that this guy from the Depression era didn't know how to handle the 70s.

Yeah, Elvis was weird like that. Iirc, he wanted to be part of Nixon's anti drug task force. In fact, that pic was probably taken for it when the met.

He definitely would be a Trumper, but I dont think he would have been at the Capitol on J6. He wasn't really politically active, he was just an older guy with lots of opinions
Sack to crack, going to town
Hard to say, Archie was a moron but he had a heart, any time he saw someone getting hurt he forgot all about whatever stupid shit he got in his head and focused on the actual problem of the episode.
I kinda get the feeling he'd be a non voting maga.

You could basically reboot the series where Archie is trying to gotcha Michael with the latest maga bullshit and Michael is trying to explain that's bullshit. Edith is just trying to keep the piece and Gloria is there to say the shit to Archie that Michael won't say except that's not really a sitcom that's just real life for a lot of people right now.

No, it was set during the then-present day. But the Bunker's home did have a more "vintage" look to it, which could explain it.

You should watch The Mary Tyler Moore Show, it's an incredible show and a really good time capsule that has also aged well
