Youre probably good for the time being. So far trump doesnt seem to be following up on any of his promises pre election. From tariffs, the TikTok ban, deportation(hell just the opposite with his support of H1B visas) and so on.

I'm a straight white guy. I don't feel safe. Mostly because I think I'm going to go off on the wrong person if facing things head on. There was a mini trump rally on my way home (15-20 people) and I just started screaming to "You're all traitors".

I'm not going to be able to bite my tongue if things get bad.

Theoretically you're in an area where there's a lot immigrants. They'd literally be wiping out an entire city.

Assuming it's not a free for all attack, you'd probably be a lesser target than

- people who's parents are still illegal
- people with a criminal record
- people who were here later than you

And odds are, they're targeting very specific ethnicities that likely are not your own. Hate to put it that way.

My Filipino friend was always confused for a Latino person in my hill billy town. So because of that, I would be mindful but I would still live my life. Like you can't live in fear since that isn't going to help you.

This new administration started out with a double nazi salute, an executive order effectively dooming family members of active service members and other marginalized people who will be killed and tormented by enemies of the US just because Republicans don't like the color of their skin or their religious beliefs, today is the beginning of a country wide raid of various US cities by immigration agents for mass deportation and most likely indefinite detainment in soon to be operational camps located in Texas, to call it fear mongering at this point is pure ignorance at best and outright malice at worse.
