It could be anything.
I'd shorten the item acquisition jingle or have it not hold you up. It just awkwardly breaks the flow of the game if you're schmooving through.
The floaty controls. Play SM and then play like almost any 2D Metroid that came after it.
The crappy jumping mechanics.
Wall bouncingpractice
The crappy jumping mechanics.This. It feels kind of janky.
Wall bouncingIt's a little counterintuitive, but I actually don't mind, since it's more of a secret technique that you can clear the game without using (actually, I think you can 100% it without too).
Make it more linear, add story cutscenes with dialogue, get rid of all the bugs and glitches.this is maybe the worst post you've ever made
Make it so that the Crystal Flash only takes some of your shit and not all of it.
this is maybe the worst post you've ever madeHellz yeah
The controls. The control scheme is very unintuitive compared to modern games.I have to swap Item Select and Item Cancel. I also move Run to B and shoot to Y
That's already how it works. 10 each Missiles, Supers, and PB's (plus 1 PB to initiate CF.)
Wall jumping. I never could do it reliably.practice

Nothing. It's pretty much a perfect game.
At this point no one here needs it, but for future generations I'll request that the one tunnel you have to super bomb to progress in the game is made a bit more obvious. If future generations cant figure that out, well, theres no hope for humanity.

Whom I kidding, we all know there isnt anyway.
You guys are really drinking the nostalgia kool-aid if you think SM is perfect. The map system is dated as dog shit and anyone who has played Dread can very easily identify this.Maybe I'm too familiar with it, but it's about as perfect of a game you're going to get out of the era it came out in
At this point no one here needs it, but for future generations I'll request that the one tunnel you have to super bomb to progress in the game is made a bit more obvious.I dunno, I'm terrible about getting stuck in video games but it was pretty obvious to me. The broken tunnel nearby was a really good hint.
Only thing I would fix is jumping out of sand. Otherwise perfectI just wish there was more consistent logic to sand. Sometimes you can jump, sometimes you sink immediately to the bottom, others you just sink a bit.
Just add fast travel between the save points. Otherwise perfect game. The controls are fine. Fusion is the one with garbage controls.Eh, with like one backtrack exception, you usually get something out of a trip to somewhere
Make Phantoon suck lessI went in with max 5 super missiles (hadn't bothered to go back through Brinstar) and went with missiles and honestly, made it easier.

Hitting him with Supers makes him do the semi-fire circle thing from the ceiling. With missiles he'd just float around
The point of no return save point in Tourian. Remove that shit.
The jump mechanics are perfect.
This is a fair one. Points of no return are just not fun.If the items were fewer, it wouldn't be so bad but in some places you can collect like 3 items in a minute and that adds up to like 15-20 seconds of dead time in a minute
The jumping in sand fall thingies is annoying but, like the rest of the game, still feels rewarding overall
I never felt like the 'item jingle' - a term I've never heard of before this topic - was at all a thing in this game. In LttP I can at least get the argument. Not in though. The progression always feels so well paced, and again, earned. And this coming from someone that plays everything on easy mode

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the term 'item jingle' and maybe even the topic in general?
Is this about speed running? If not, I'm... Confused why 20 seconds without a new item is considered 'dead time'
They're talking about the game pausing for a few seconds to play the item jingle whenever you pick up a power up. It adds up when you collect multiple power ups in a short span. It never bothered me, but I can understand the complaint.
That's what they're talking about? Seriously?
That's what they're talking about? Seriously?Yeah.
Yeah.Still better than a STEROLIZER post
It just breaks the flow of the game.
It's like reading a book
But all the
Sentences are broken up
Like this
For the entire
Length of the
Fucking book
