Pence supported Trump until the mob came for him. So calling that moral fortitude isnt something I agree with.
I know, I'm not talking about then. There was a period where Pence flip-flopped like everybody else, however very recently, like a week or 2 ago, he expliticly stated that he refuses to endorse Donald Trump and that he doesn't know who he's voting for, but he's not voting for Trump.
I guess his career is largely over so calling him "big" may be a misnomer, however he's the only Republican of national prominence I can think of who has committed to not voting or endorsing him.
Everybody else Trump insulted eventually caved and got on their knees for Trump.
And don't get me wrong, not endorsing/planning to vote for someone who has insulted and threatened your safety is literally the least he could do, however every other Republican makes it seem like some Herculean feat.

Liz Cheney is the only Republican who made an actual stand on principle with something actually on the line. I dont agree with her on anything but on Trump we do.
Adam Kizinger as well, he still hasn't stopped talking shit about Trump, however my statement was more about former Republican candidates or people who made big statements about how Trump is a threat to democracy and should never get back in, ultimately to flip on that and say actually I'm voting for/endorsing Trump.
2 recent examples are Sununu of New Hampshire and Bill Barr. For months they talked a good game and ultimately kissed the ring. Pence, at the least, has not become one of them. It's the one decent thing I can say about that monster.

LOL no. It's just that Mike Pence is a Republican of above-average intelligence, and therefore can remember that Trump literally tried to get him murdered by a mob on January 6.
Self interest is not moral fortitude.
Trump also almost got a ton of Republican reps killed and they still suck him off. I forget who, but there's that dude who said they're just tourists and we have a picture of him freaking out and hiding from these "tourists".
Recently Christ Sununu and Bill Barr, after spending months talking about how Trump is an existential threat to this nation and its democracy, how he should never get back in, are now saying they plan to vote for and support him. Haley is the most recent. On this front Pence as recent as a few weeks ago says he refuses to do either for Trump. It would be far easier to cave like every other Republican and kiss Trump's ass as that's the Republican way. He's at least not done that.
