Everyone hates the president (Every day, the news are about how she is poorly managing the country) and the congress. You're from Peru?
Mostly the congress, they litterally makes laws only for their own benefits. And Peru is a very convervative country, no matter if you are from the left or the right, people don't care about these things because of their own belief.
You're from Peru?I don't want
In some countries, the tendency is to be very socially conservative, even among people who have very left wing views on the economy and welfare state.
I don't know enough about Peru to say if this is actually a step backwards or just in line with their normal views.
A lot of Central and South American countries are shitty to the LGBTQ community due to the Catholic stranglehold on their culture and history shaping who they are today.
Reminder that Peru had a left-wing President until he got overthrown by his vicepresident with the help of the right-wing congress and the police. Now the former left-wing President is in jail.Castillo?
Castillo?plus his views on lgbtq+ people aren't any different than the current one's (who's also left wing)
More than half the country citizen hated him, but they still felt a little bit wrong to try to impeach him and go against the election results. The moment he attempted the coup and dissolve congress, basically everyone rejected him.
plus his views on lgbtq+ people aren't any different than the current one's (who's also left wing)
The new one is a puppet without morals or principles.the old guy was a puppet as well, the whole system is beyond fucked

Right-wing conservatism has been rapidly growing more popular all over the world.on the bright side at least from my experience it does feel like inclusiveness is increasing in institutions and programs, though that's mostly run privately

Peru's congress is dominated by people who think the fascist dictator Alberto Fujimori who forcibly sterilized indigenous women is a swell guy. The current President is basically their point woman, but she's understood to be a placeholder with the goal being to get Fujimori's daughter Keiko back into office someday; the current President is just keeping the seat warm for now.it's basically a bunch of mafia groups fighting each other
Pedro Castillo (the former President who's now in jail) was just the latest of several Peruvian presidents fucked over by the obstructionist Congress in recent years.
