If it makes you feel better, I'm 41 and never been married.
you shouldn't bring new lives into this world because people tell you to get married and have children
you're just going to make your children suffer
your right
Ill be 38 in June and I dont have any relationship prospects whatsoever, so as long as you could get a relationship of some sort if you wanted to, Id say no.

I got married at 31. My friend got married at 37 and just had his first kid at 40.

Not really, but after a particularly bad break up I was pretty much done with relationships for nearly 15 years.

Absolutely not.

I have been married for 25 years with two kids and that works for me. I have a twin brother who never even wants to think about marriage or kids. That works for him. And plenty of others are somewhere in between. It is all good.

I always respond to these kind of statements because my brother always worries that marriage and family is what he is supposed to do. According to who? People should care much less about outside pressure (from family, society, friends etc.) and more about what works for them. As long as people treat those around them with respect and care, doing what works for your life is all for the best.

TC, your choices are great as long as they work for you!

Are you dating or interested in dating?
I am dating now and have been seeing them for the last 5 years. But I didn't really miss dating during those previous 15 years.
If it's bothering you, take steps.

If it isn't, don't worry about it.

32 isn't even old. It's about the average age for a guy's first marriage in the UK, though I believe it's younger in the US. Probably because of the greater prevalence of religious belief.

No? Work on your own timeline rather than what randos think you "should" do.

If you measure your life by someone else's, you're always gonna be disappointed.

I'm 42 and have never been in a relationship
People stopped asking me if I'm getting married in my 30s.

I always hated those intrusive questions at family dinners and shit. Eventually you mature to a point where people respect you enough to shut the fuck up and mind their business.
This is where cool people write stuff.
If I tell you "no", maybe I can gaslight myself into not feeling so ashamed about myself, too.

Some amount of shame is healthy
Maybe if you actually decided that's what you wanted decades ago and have been trying and failing this whole time... and even then, that's a stretch. But no, you should absolutely not be ashamed of not making a big lifetime kommitment you don't even want.

Let's see...

I married at 32
My older brother married at 35 and my younger brother also married at 32
In the last 2 years I've attended 4 weddings - everyone who married was over 30 (oldest was a 39/40 couple for their first marriage)
My brother-in-law is engaged - he and his fiance are 35
I'm going to France this August for another wedding - yep, the couple getting married is over 30

Although in my early 20s many of my friends ages like 19 to 23 were getting married and all that (military environment) so I felt childish compared to them at the time haha.

But I later realized it is common to not be married that young!! I was just in a specific bubble at the time where it was common
