You're a teacher, right? Maybe they're just being polite? After all, students in Asian countries are usually taught to show respect to authority figures.
Yup. Its just being on the receiving end, you get to see how they are taught the respect, how they go about their day ect.
They don't even have cleaners, all the students need to clean up every hall and room in the school. Its a period of cleaning.
