If we ever make contact with aliens and become part of a galactic community, would earth continue to keep seperate nations or would we become just an earth government, to represent all humans within a bigger galactic group? I feel like in that situation, nations might not make sense anymoreI think this is a question for the aliens.
no galactic community would accept us until we got our shit togetherI think any galactic community would enforce a quarantine on our planet/system to make sure our toxic and destructive behaviour doesn't infect the rest of the galaxy.
Imagine humans being part of any galactic society, we can barely stand the society we have now without killing each other. Humans prob be demanding shit they probably shouldnt have than trying to go to war when they dont get it.
This was basically an episode in Stargate
wasn't even just an episode, it was an entire plotline.
I was referring to an episode where some advanced race gave a primitive planet the technology to make unlimited energy and they blew up their own planet in the process after they started a war over it.
In Star Trek they're basically not allowed to make first contact unless they have world peace + warp drive.
oh yeah, the Tollans. Earth would definitely destroy itself if we had that tech now too
although they did keep refusing to give Earth technology even after they were allies
YeahI remember they kept asking for tech and were told "no dude we know what happens when we do this"
Nope. We'll probably get a Halo like UNSC thingy going, but Earth would not collectively join forcesThere's an OC fanfic sort of thing I read (Jenkinsverse) that does that.
Humanity is largely represented by a specific coalition, and a massive chunk of the alien population doesn't realize that the coalition only represents like <10 countries.this is the way I see it most likely going down. presenting a front of being unified under a single organization/entity/whatever when in actuality if anyone looks closer they'll immdiately realize that's not the case at all.
wasn't even just an episode, it was an entire plotline. If I remember correctly the greatest threat humanity ever posed was that space corn that destroyed Cheyenne Mountain.
the more advanced races wanted nothing to do with humans until they saved the Asgard from the replicators and showed they could actually be a threat to the Goa'uld
If I remember correctly the greatest threat humanity ever posed was that space corn that destroyed Cheyenne Mountain.
oh yeah they brought back like 5 different plagues that would have destroyed humanity if they got outSee, this is why snakes in your head is actually a good idea; Their hyper-efficient immune systems would have rendered them immune to such novel concerns. Don't delay, get a snake in your head now! eyes glow

See, this is why snakes in your head is actually a good idea; Their hyper-efficient immune systems would have rendered them immune to such novel concerns. Don't delay, get a snake in your head now! eyes glowI mean thats not such a bad idea if they are more like the Tokkra. Longer life span, disease immunity and an ultra deep voice.
