RDR2 makes literally everything so glacially slow I find it incredibly tedious compared to 1, but its a prequel so story wise youre good.Yeah it is slow but it is the only slow game that really pulled me in and made me felt like a person in this living world. It is a real trip of an experience
As others have said, it's a prequel so really the only thing you'll miss out on is seeing characters that were in the first game and being like "oh hey it's that guy, now I get to see how they got to where they are in the first game"Thats like watching Romeo + Juliet and thinking whats the point of Shakespeare.
The game is painfully slowHow slow?

Animations are extreme and can feel very clunky. Skinning an animal for example means you kneel down, take out your knife, cut into it for a while, drag the skin off, then stand up. Now imagine doing that a large number of times. To add to this, walking, riding, actions, all feel painfully slow compared to the first game. Its like they took a fun arcadey game and turned it into a simulator.
I didn't mind it, I almost consider RDR2 to be more of a cowboy simulator than a typical open world TPS game. Even stuff like looting bodies feels slow cause you lean down and feel around and get stuff, which could be annoying if you killed a bunch. Looting houses takes a long time too.
I don't care I enjoyed it all. It felt great.
It's like 45 secondsNo way in hell. Most of the missions in the first couple chapters are at least 5 minutes.

Plus, basically every mission starts with 20 or 30 minutes of riding and talking that you cant skip. This is OK in and of itself, but Rockstar gives medal rankings on missions, and if you do mission replay, you start with bare ones gear and stats and such so it will be much harder to get a Gold on replay than it is the first time you do the mission. Since theres an achievement / trophy for getting Gold on 70% of missions or so, if you want that, youre going to be reloading your save before missions and replaying those missions u til you get gold, which means youre going to have to suffer through that 20 or 30 minutes of unskippable riding and talking a lot . This by itself basically made the game a massive chore.
2 is a prequel of RDR. Hell yeah.
Well there's a lengthy prologue to start with.
Awesome, I have one more question should I get the deluxe that comes with the online version and how is red dead online?

Standard comes with it I believe and it is dead. I'm sure people still play but Rockstar fully abandoned it in favor of GTA Online a couple years ago so there's no new updates but is still up. It isn't that good, and is a far cry from RDR1's fun multiplayer which is a damn shame. If Rockstar actually gave it time and attention they could have had another banger on their hands.Thats pretty much how RDR online went.
