Why didn't more users join it? Would have thought at least 1% would have. Is it because CE is still open to so many people so they don't need to go to discord? Or is it something else?

Because not everyone likes using Discord. It's an acquired taste for many and takes time getting used to.

I don't know 80% of you and the only reason this board is remotely bearable is because I've blocked another 15% of the remaining users over the course of years. I do not want to go to a server where those users are active participants in a conversation.

I sorta considered it just as a way to keep track of people when this board eventually does disappear, but at the same time I gotta say I don't think very many of my interests line up with that many people on CE so I don't think I'd get too much out of actually being there to chat

Because that "68,116 users" bit was the same thing MMO's do to try to make their game sound more populated than it is. "Over 1 million accounts created!" But the amount of concurrent players never passes like 30k because it's tons of alt accounts lol

on the contrary as someone who's been exasperated with the general behavior and tone of conversation on here for well over a decade i think i'd probably get along better with most people here in a live-chat setting as opposed to a forum environment

If I recall, that number refers to people who have logged into GameFAQs in the last year with enough karma to access CE. It doesn't mean they ever visited CE.

Good point, this place has become a hivemind pretty much, I cant remember the last time ive been surprised by a general take here.
