My father has a "ladyfriend" who owns a 85 Monte Carlo. 300k+ miles. It's also toast. He's been trying to get it back in working condition where it's not breaking down every week. I think he said he's given up. They decided to start looking for another car.
I only chuckle at this because when I was in high school (90-94) the go to car to get that was cheap, dependable, and would run practically forever was an 80's Monte Carlo.
Seriously back then you could pick one up for under $1,000. Great deals for high school kids. The parking lot was full of them at school.
