I wish Battleborn was still able to be played, I really liked it and thought it was better than Overwatch gameplay wise.

There was a fantastic game that came out some time ago called The Showdown Effect. Devs abandoned it though.

PlanetSide. Nothing like it exists. The massive scale battles, persistence of territory control, the feeling of really belonging to a faction, it was too much fun.

Battlefield Bad Company. Apparently the servers were just shut down a few months ago but it was only released on 360 and PS3. The multiplayer for that one is still better than most that came after and the campaign is awesome too.

There are a ton of games that are dead to me personally because I dont own the system or a computer to emulate them on. Diddy kong racing, the old Pokemon games, burnout 3 takedown, def jam vendetta, ufc undisputed 2 and 3, guitar hero

a bunch of other ones

Throne of Darkness was a damn great Diablo like. I mean I can still play it, but multiplayer is dead.

Resident Evil Outbreak, both parts.

Phantasy Star Online is a good answer. I'm glad there are unofficial servers but it's not the same in terms of player count.

Since there's still some way to play PSO, though, my answer is Playstation Home for the PS3. I had a lot of fun on that thing and it was free if you had a PS3. I have a Quest headset but have no interest in the "metaverse" (really just a name for the game Horizon Worlds).

Super Monday Night Combat.
