Great episode. So it was mostly a psychological thing that made Storm lose her power? Also this episode double confirmed that Gambit is in fact dead, but I wonder if Magneto is truly dead since his body didn't show up in Xaviers vision like Gambit's body did. Also I do hope we have Nightcrawler as a new regular, since he is in the opening. Also I guess Sinister has a bigger role in this story after all.

Man, I love the old school comic book colors from the world Charle's was in. And lol at deathbird's line about earth being located in a space ghetto. In fact all the lines were great, specially Charles anti racial, anti colonialism rants. This is soo good.

I would argue the Xavier subplot was very on the nose on what it was trying to convey, but that's basically X-men in a nutshell lol. It was pretty decent, but I liked the Storm/Forge story arc a little bit better (and I guess Storm getting her powers back causes her to wear a even skimpier outfit? lol)

I love how no matter the circumstances, Charles never misses a beat to be a pretentious asshole. XD

I mean, at least it's being aimed at worse assholes.

Also YES @ Storm's classic black.

Storm's badass. I really hope they don't nerf her; she was showing some wicked power. Though that "I love you" seemed a bit soon?

And Chuck's coming back! Wonder if he's just gonna be able to pick things up where he left off or if Cyclops is actually going to show some resentment there, especially since not-Jean was killed in the last episode.

Deathbed ranting about human inferiority while working with Vulcan is certainly a choice. Not one I would make, but a choice.

dude I was shocked to see they even had him in there. If you pay close attention, he even has an X on his belt.

Pretty fun episode although took me a while to get onboard with Charles being rescued by space birds. Felt for the first time like I needed to watch the original series again

It was literally one of the last things to happen in the old series. The world believes Xavier is dead but they were very particular to note that he was taken off-planet by the Shi'ar to be healed.

Still that episode very much treated the whole affair as if he was dying for realsies.

Honestly I suggest watching like a half-hour recap of the series on YT. You'll get the salient points.

Would it hurt them to do a simple "last time on X-men" in the first episode for X-men 97? I was also confused about it as well, but thankfully I had my friend, who binged the whole series again, to tell me the context for it. If he didn't, I would think this was the afterlife or some shit lol.

i did watch the original but as a kid.

my point was more up until this episode I didnt really feel like you had to watch the previous episode since the backstory exposition was really well done. This was the first time I felt a bit lost

I agree, I don't think there was any mention in X-men 97 that Xavier being taken by some alien race to recover...unless I missed it.

I didnt mind the Xavier stuff, but the Storm and Forge content was really weak.

You tripping bro the appearance of the OG suit was hype as fuck
I have nothing else to say
I largely agree on the Storm piece. It felt extremely rushed and frankly felt like a waste of a depowered Storm plot.

Leech the little green dudes mutant power is to suppress other mutants powers. Pretty sure that's why the sentinel didn't detect Magento. He's alive.
we know way too much about Lilandra and Charles' sex life now
It don't matter. None of this matters.

i mean it was fast, but not this fast. there were many two parters and even longer arcs. i think if this was going at the same pace as TAS then the Goblin Queen arc probably would have been a three parter, for instance.

They didn't know how much show they will get so a lot of stuff happens fast.
