Honestly I do kind of enjoy that a chunk of people are too scared to talk about Politics or stuff like Israel right now. Its also kind of refreshing right now even the gimmick posters have taken a break and everyone is complaining but mostly acting normal right now.

Politics is important and worthy of discussion as it has real implications for the lives we live within society and our futures. Shitposting, hornyposting, and gimmicks are not.

Also, I don't think people are scared to talk about politics in general (it's still been going on), however you are right on the Israel front.

I admit, it's going to be nice knowing most people won't be brave enough to invoke or indulge with certain hot-button topics, too carelessly, anymore.

I find talking politics here way better than anywhere else. Bullshit gets fact checked, racists get modded, links encourage looking up more info instead of just taking the speakers word for it.

Oh its the death of the board, no doubt. I think turning it private was a huge mistake. But Ive honestly believed this site will probably close all the boards in the next few years. I feel like its inevitable.

I can see why they'd go that route, if the goal is to placate advertisers, but destroying the community is an insanely self-destructive act for a site built on user generated content.
