Yeah, that's always the dilemma.
Do you keep it open so that everyone shows up and you get more traffic but there's tons of drama, or do you screen folks and have a smaller community that stays peaceful

So in the rules it says no gimmick accounts. It sounds like the intent is to prevent antagonizing people. But what about more self deprecating gimmicks like pineapple? Is that welcome?

I downloaded the app yesterday, and turned on notifications thinking it would tell me when someone posts in a topic I posted in. Nope, it notifies me when anyone posts in any topic. I had to turn them off, my watch was constantly buzzing me.
I'm the eyehole man. I'm the only one that's allowed to have eyeholes! Get up on outta here with my eyeholes!

Those give you the most control over what you see notifications for and what you don't. With this setup it's possible to mute everything outside of one specific thread, which would probably jive well with some people imo

Yeah, I saw who he is on discord, but I haven't seen anything concerning from him. Didn't know what he had done here in the past. I have seen him mentioned on and off for the 3 years I have been on CE, but no direct exposure as far as I know.
