First I saw entirely was The Bridge Bike Gang during February 1999.

First I caught by decision as it premiered was Princess VS Princess.
Amalgam Universe resident Born in 82.
Episode one in 1998.
Kee Oth Rama Pancake
I'm pretty sure it was the one with that guy who abused his Sandshrew.

My first Digimon episode was the one where Tokomon gets captured by the Pagumon and Agumon has to save him.

It was definitely something from season 1. Maybe the Clefairy episode in Mt. Moon?

The first episode, watched numerous VHS tapes with my next door neighbor pretty often. First one I remember watching live was when Krabby evolved into Kingler.

I can honestly say I have never seen a single episode, any movie, or played any of the games. For some reason I can't really explain this just became something huge that passed me by and I never experienced. I was aware of it at a certain point but I never like to jump in on the middle of something and I like to experience it from the beginning and I just never had a chance with this. I have never ever seen the show on tv anywhere.

As for the games they just didn't catch my attention enough because they were primarily Nintendo handhelds and I never cared about handhelds.

So yeah it is one of the biggest franchises on the planet, and I have never seen or played anything to do with it.

I mean I didn't have any regular Star Trek consumption until I was 26 (2006) and checked out it's 1970's animated series through library VHS tapes.

Barring a miniseries comic in fact, I didn't watch any Star Wars films until 2021. It happens.

Ah yes. With the magician who struggles to make it big and the end of the episode makes it seem like he'll be okay. He just only took advantage of a hypnotized kid to capture a lot of Exeggutor which in turn made him responsible for countless damages in town, but happy ending?

Ash vs Surge. Only saw it because my sisters boyfriend kept nagging me to put pokemon on every day before leaving for school. At the time I was under the impression pokemon was something like barney and teletubbies and would just give him a weird look and say no. But after seeing Garfield reruns for the millionth time, I gave in since I figured at worse it's at least something different. I was late for school everyday after that until they changed pokemons time slot to after school.

Yup. Been far too long since I've seen it. I should watch it again for old times' sake!

I caught the first episode as it aired with my family iirc (either that, or a replay not long after) and started from there.

Oh yeah, so kind of another case like Detective Conan where the first episode was the basis for a movie. Less so than Conan's but still.

This, episode 15, Battle Aboard the St. Anne. They aired it first as a preview on September 7, 1998 before the first episode which premiered the next day.

Cool. Was it the special airing which was done before "Pokmon I Choose You"? Info here:

A very tactful end where the narrator makes a sinking pun while the main cast are possibly about to die.

And additionally the Nintendo Power promo video on the franchise had an alternate dub of the Rocket Trio's discussion with Giovanni where he told them to find Pikachu before the Pokmon merchandise hits shelves.

The path to the pokemon league.

The fact that Ash never kicked his ass in a rematch makes me sad.

Yeah. Wonder why we never saw those relatives of Ash and Brock or Misty's friend.

But yeah Twilight Sparkles would probably eyeroll at the idea of Friendship not being teachable at school.

Looking at the episode list it was either one of the episodes with Sabrina in Saffron City or the Primeape one afterward, also could have been the one with Charmeleon not listening.

It was after Christmas of 98 when I played my cousin's copy and got interested so it was either the reruns of the earlier episodes or start of the later ones in Feb. 99.

First one.
Wasn't a pokemon kid back then and checking out from curiosity. Used to think Digimon is cooler, but nowadays i think they're cringey.

The one where Sabrina try's to flatten them with a bowling ball with a creepy telekinetic puppet girl.

I've seen almost every episode up till the end of Diamond /Pearl though and have most of the first 15 seasons on DVD.

that's interesting, I didn't know they aired this episode before the actual premiere, very odd.

but no, I distinctly remember getting Pokemon Red in Christmas 1998, and when I found the Pokemon anime, I had already been playing Pokemon.
