Hardly

Minor D&D influences in its beginnings is very, VERY different to outright turning the games into Dragon Age

You say that as if having multiple romance options that you have to pick from isn't already in games like Persona. Hell, final fantasy 7 did it already the first time through with the date scene.

You don't understand. If FF does something new, it's bad. If FF does something it's already done, it's bad, and also no it didn't.

Also if FF does something a lot of gamers like from other games, it's definitely bad.

You know that's not what he means. However from. Story view they have always been more western inspired the Eastern inspired.

Doubt it would happen. The Japanese video game industry is still fairly conservative.
Funny thing is for the longest time they were more progressive then western media. Its just that Western media has overcame and surpassed it. Many of the progressive creators of today's media were inspired by anime and Japanese games and wanted to emulate them.

Even if you hate how "woke" western Media is now and how much more conservative Japanese media is, it is thanks to Japanese media that it became so "woke" as that's why we were trying to catch up to.

Yes, it's a great idea and more RPGs should be about fantasy lesbians.

Do you realize rpgs themselves already have elements of western? The genre itself is based on Dungeons and Dragons.

It's kinda funny though because FF12 was a RTWP combat system and the gambits were basically exactly like dragon age origins. The only thing different between the two was the perspective.

Ff12 was not actually realtime combat. It just executed its battle order very well that it felt real time. In reality it is a modified active-time battle. This comes into play when you hit the action limit, which is a major issue in the PS2 version.

One of the simplest adjustedments they did in ff12 was not delay the user from issuing commands, creating a command queue. This really helped give it that "real time" feel.

You can literally pause the game, issue commands while paused, and then unpause the game and see the targeting reticules update immediately.

The only time the combat is suspended is during quickenings and when summons are dismissed.

Yeah. I think the only FF games I've played that feel more Eastern-inspired are FF10 and parts of FF14's Stormblood expansion. Everything else is more European -- medieval knights and dragons and whatnot -- or a general "modern" vibe than anything.

The themes and ideas or ideologies in the stories themselves are more Eastern than Western, but that's about it.

Famous Western medieval inspiration like spaceships, moon elves, giant Mecha, gun swords, high school politics, literal Journey to the West, and the church is always evil and never ever ever a good thing.

The problem is less with conservatives in the West, but more with conservatives in Japan.

There are still politicians there upholding the ban on same sex marriage.
