Yes. Gen 6 was my favorite competitive battling scene due to their inclusion (among other factors). Mechanics like Z-Moves and particularly Dynamax pail in comparison.

No.

They made some nice looking Pokmon look shit. Dumb edgy 'more spikes' bollocks (Houndoom and T-tar are surely edgy enough), or silly meme chasing (Ampharos, Lopunny).

They made some bad mons relevant again, which is nice. Pidgeot never got the love it deserved until it got the mega.

I for one appreciate the simple design of Mega Kangaskhan. That is, nothing changes but that child finally walks out to fight. Its small yet threatening.

They're the best battle gimmick, and I wish more Pokemon (especially weaker ones that need the help) got access to them. Plus, Mega Diancie and Mega Ampharos are two of my top 10 favorite Pokemon designs in the entire franchise.

I dont know why they ditched the mechanic in favour of demonstrably worse gimmicks. At least Megas made previously terrible Pokemon viable and had some effort put in

Yes, when it was actually an upgrade and Not wasted on already good Pokmon that either didnt need it or flat out made them worse.

Which really sucks because not all Pokmon obviously can get a mega evolution. So your favorites not getting one sucks hard enough but their mega being garbage sucks more so.

Not really, a lot of them are pretty dumb, but there are some cool ones I wish just were turned into new evolutions.

But it is the best Gimmick of all the stupid pokemon fighting gimmicks over the years. Screw gigantomax, z moves, and whatever that type changing thing in the new games is called

I enjoy them but I don't think I've actually used them that much ingame... Mostly because I don't always have a Mega-compatible 'Mon on my team...

Yeah, Megas really were the best gimmick. I hate how modern Pokmon always has a new gimmick just to abandon it fast these days. They're never very great too.

I'm baffled how they managegd to somehow downgrade it like 50 tiers when they came up with dynamax

Mega evolution happened when you gave a certain pokemon a specific mega stone that makes them do a digimon esque evolution in battle. They revert back after.

Yes, its the best new mechanic they added in the last few generations. I wish they toned it down a bit and focused on giving only crappy Pokmon megas to make them more viable, as opposed to giving them to already overpowered Pokemon. I would love to see a Mega Tauros.
