Both can be quite annoying and difficult to drive though.
Just call me Discount Dan.
It doesn't snow here so I'm not equipped to answer this question, but I'd assume rain isn't as bad since it won't clog up your wheels the way snow does. Unless you're driving on sand (i.e. mud) roads in which case either would be a pain.

As someone who deals with snow every year, rain easily. With heavy rain, visibility is about 80% of the issue and reducing speed will curb most threats.

Even in places that deal with snow regularly, plows still lag behind on clean up and you'll be dealing with shit driving conditions, even on major streets and highways.

Snow, because fools tend to drive normally in heavy rain but treat snow with at least some measure of respect. And things get cancelled in snow, leading to fewer fools on the road to begin with.

That's not true at all.

I live in an area that can see blizzards in the winter, and flashfloods during the summer. People are morons in both.

It's easily rain for me though.

Hard agree. I see an accident or 2 with every major snowfall. People in big trucks think the weather doesn't apply to them.

in a whiteout blizzard you cant see at all. Its also dangerous to pull over because you might get slammed into

I've driven in both and prefer rain as snow comes with the risk of icy roads.

I will also say that dirt storms can be quite the problem, too.

One time I was driving in New Mexico late at night and the dirt storm I was in was so intense the sky literally lightened from night to the color of dirt as if it was daytime. Also almost missed a semi truck that was hidden in the dust until I was up on it.

I have seen snow less than 10 times in my life, none of those times would be anything close to "heavy snow", and even then I never drove in snow because I was spending too much time playing with the snow.

So yeah I have no idea how to drive in snow, so heavy rain is my choice
