Apparently the most common cancer in children. Would like to know why my body decided to pick off the children's cancer menu, because that actually will make my treatment more complicated, and doesn't effect survival rate positively.

I'm not going to say anything really needs to be said. I don't really know too many people here, but CE has always been a source of comfort for me.

But ofc, I have a lot of underlying problems thar will make this HURT before getting better.

It is pissing me off how wishy-washy the medical teams are being about how this will go for me. This was caught from about two months from onset, so I have so much of a better shot.

I do like my video games, though. SO:

MISSION OBJECTIVE: SURVIVE

The fact I can give you what details I can can be the difference maker between 'here is your roadmap to getting out of here in six weeks' and 'you're headed to hospice in 6 weeks'

I can do this, and I thank you for your honesty :)

If it makes you feel better when I had Lymphoma (Burkitt's) it was a kind that primarily showed up in African children.

You've got this thing. Yeah, it's gonna suck for awhile, but of they caught as early as you say I think you've got a good shot of beating it's ass.

I did chemotherapy for my treatment, so if you have any questions I'm more than happy to share my experience with you if you think it can be of assistance. CE also has a few other cancer survivors as well, though the only one that springs to mind is @Doom_Art . He may be able to share his experience with yoj as well.

It's a complicated story of how tiny microscopic bleeding in my legs turned quickly into a slow but constant oozing of blood in my nose, and awful bruising all over my body. Blood tests made this worse.

This is a condition called immuno thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP).

However, ITP's root causes aren't exactly known. The best guesses we have is a critical immune response to stresses.

Getting fucking Leukemia would likely qualify, but I also have Diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, Grave's Disease, and have had a complete thyrpidectomy. So who effin knows?

The most fortunate (unfortunate) part is ITP rashes look quite a bit like Leukemia rashes, and I decided to hell with that. THAT PART NEEDS INVESTIGATING FURTHER.

Sticking to those guns will have probably done me a lot of favors by the time 30 days in hospital are done.

Pay attention to your bodies people. It really could save your life.

I'm gonna be extra special and say that I will like have TWO different types of treatment, lol.

First, an intravenous therapy. Then a more conventional round of radiation therapy.

I've done this before. I used to take Lemtrada (originally a Leukemia treatment, and still used for it. But mostly used for MS patients now), and it's an intravenous drug that WILL destroy the immune system in the hopes that the one that rises from the ashes will be better than the last one.

And you know what? It FUCKING WORKED. My MRI for my MS have been clear for over two years. :)

Cancer sucks so much man. I just recently became a two-time Cancer survivor as I just had kidney surgery last Monday to remove a renal Carcinoma (got lucky as it was only a partial nephrectomy and not a full one). Also had Non-Hodgkins lymphoma about 7 years ago and treated that with Chemo.

Just stay positive, follow everything your Oncologist asks of you and you can get through this. My best to you. Thousands survive cancer every day. You have to think that way instead of going down the darker path.
I'm sorry to hear that. Stay strong TC!
Im sorry youre going through this but youre going to get through it. And also fuck cancer

Ya, reading above about what you have already had to deal with in life I think we already know your strength. The fight to survive the shit you deal with has proven that. Just remember in your darker times that you have support here, even if it is just a message board.

Got to to get THIRTEEN teeth removed via oral surgery before the therapy gets fully underway.

I inherited my father's terrible teeth :/.

The chances of bleeding out on the dentist's chair are low, and platelet transfusions the day of procedure will help with that.

But still. Eep.

Looking up this:

With current treatment regimens, about 80%90% of people with ALL will reach a complete remission (which means that leukemia cells cannot be seen in the bone marrow). About half of these people relapse. About 40%50% of people with ALL reach a complete remission and do not relapse.

This is great news. I hope you all the best tc. Stay strong, and God bless.

MS + Cancer is one of the worst combos because you usually have to stop treating one to start treating the other. You got kinda lucky in so far as one can be "lucky" with cancer in that it looks like you've got a type of cancer that won't interfere with your MS DMT.

You got this bro. Kick that Cancer's ass.
