On Friday, February 16, a pit bull dog attacked a one and a half year old child who was inside his house trying to defend another pet in Arjona (Bolvar). The first versions indicate that the aggressor dog belonged to the owners of the house and for that reason it was without a muzzle.
After the attack, the child was transferred to the Napolen Franco Pareja Hospital, where he arrived with injuries to his neck and other vital parts that caused brain damage and later his death.
For his part, the director of the Casa del Nio recommended that the community be careful with these types of breeds classified as dangerous, which could cause incidents like the one that occurred in Arjona.
We want to make some very specific recommendations to the community of Cartagena and Bolvar, it has to do with the care of these dogs, which are so aggressive, like the pit bull breed, for example; these dogs must have muzzles; In the house, if there is still no control over the dog, there are children, babies and there are other animals, they should also be in the same way, why? because they are very, very aggressive animals and every day we have more cases of attacks by these dogs on different people with fatal outcomes, said the doctor.
This is never going to stop is it?Not until we as a society decide to stop breeding them.
Is having a child and pit bull in the same household a safe decision?
I saw countless pitbull attacks against kids in my clinical yearsWere most of them family-owned pit bulls?
Almost (not quite) every single one of them--Owner said dog had never done "anything" before.
People don't realize killing machines don't kill...until they do. You can have that dog 2 days, 2 months, 2 years or more and one day it'll just rip some kid's face off.
Or, maybe it won't. Either way the animal is banned in my household and my kids will never have one.
The anti-pitbull hysteria on this board is wild. They find stuff to get mad at. It fun to laugh at, at this point
The anti-pitbull hysteria on this board is wild. Not as wild as keeping vicious fighting dogs as pets.

These dogs really suck.Pitbulls don't suck. Fearmongering does. And unfortunately, you succumbed to it.

Pitbulls don't suck. Fearmongering does. And unfortunately, you succumbed to it.Pitbulls don't make good pets.
Pitbulls don't make good pets.Yes they can.
Yes they can.Let me guess, you also believe the world is a flat circle.
Yes they can.Sure, until they maul a toddler unprovoked, killing him.
Let me guess, you also believe the world is a flat circle. No I do not. Don't assume all pitbulls are bad just because Mew only posts about the bad ones.
No I do not. Don't assume all pitbulls are bad just because Mew only posts about the bad ones. You realize that every single one doesnt need to be bad for a dangerous breed to be bad to own, right?
can you post good stories about pit bulls?Sure. https://youtu.be/xOagmwTaisw

You realize that every single one doesnt need to be bad for a dangerous breed to be bad to own, right? What percentage is dangerous? Last I looked, it seemed to be sub-1%. If your threshold for banning something is that low, we'd have literally nothing.
Were most of them family-owned pit bulls?
The anti-pitbull hysteria on this board is wild. You will them post a story about a pitbull who saved its family from a fire on this board (Yes it happened) because such a story doesn't fit the narrative they want to push.

Trying to demonize a classification of dogs based on the actions of a few of them is no different then when racists do the same thing with human races they don't like. Yet I'm sure none of the "Pitt bulls are always violent" people believe that about any race of man.
I wonder what % of lethal dog attacks are actually from pit bullsThere were 73 lethal dog attacks in the 2023 and yes most of them 57 were by pitts. However 89.7 million dogs in the US and 4.5 million pitts. So even though they are more violent then other breeds, which I never once denied its still unfair to demonize millions of dogs for what less then one percent of them have done.

one and a half year old child who was inside his house trying to defend another pet in ArjonaMan that's awful
I seen this from 4chan one day. It funny the overlap between there and here. Similar attitudes too.Which should scare you since 4chan already takes the next step and applies that to human racism as well.

What percentage is dangerous? Last I looked, it seemed to be sub-1%. If your threshold for banning something is that low, we'd have literally nothing.Where did you look? Because its extremely unlikely that all the countries with pit bull bans and restrictions did so on a whim.
The anti-pitbull hysteria on this board is wild.I was thinking to myself it's been a while since the kpop guy googled a pit bull story and came here with it
