I really like Yakuza 5 but the Saejima section is so bad

-Spend 2 chapters in a prison cell with tons of cutscenes and nothing happening
-Spend the 3rd chapter in some mountains hunting
-In the 4th and final chapter you finally get to the city and it's awful. The sidewalks are super tight so you cant avoid random encounters and you cant cross the street except in certain corners at certain times. Navigating the city is such a pain in the dick
-Then for his boss at the end, there's just nonstop talking and the cutscene goes on forever

The only good side is that his hostess is the best in the game and he has that santa substory which is definitely one of the best in the series. But everything around Saejima just sucks in this game >_>

I really like the hunting.

But yeah, Tsukimino is probably the worst city in the series.

Y5 also helped me realize how much I hate Haruka

Y5 has such baffling pacing. Having to start building momentum from scratch with each character change makes it feel so slow. Y0 doing the constant switching back was such an improvement.

i love saejima but his section is cancer and i hate that they did the avoid the cops thing again. at least no chases

also 5 is when kiryu starts leaning into his own reputation and fuck if he doesnt ascend for it. actual god

The avoid cop thing isnt too bad in 5 iirc. I think there's like 2 corners you cant go near but everywhere else is fine. 4 had a bunch of spots you had to avoid which was annoying

Love idol stuff.

Haruka is definitely an either you love it or hate it.

I loved it, but hearing the same fucking song like 20 times in a row from doing her missions did get tedious.

I highly disagree.

she's been a lame character throughout the series, but having to play her idol stuff in Y5 helped me come to that conclusion.
