Vanilla Mjoll > vanilla Aela.

Bijin Aela narrowly edges out Bijin Mjoll (mostly because her massive head of hair clips heavily with every outfit that isn't skintight).

Slygja is better than both with or without mods, though.

I wasn't using any mods so I could get achievements again (dunno if the former blocks the latter; it's just easiest to do it this way), but I wouldn't mind modding Skyrim afterwards. Those Nexus mods certainly give the potential wifeys a glow-up.

Hmm, don't remember Sylgja.

Sylgja or whatever the Mining chick's name is. She has some big titties. Just use console commands to make her join you in combat and you're good

Miner girl in Shor's Stone, north of Riften. Basically Ysolda with black hair and none of the drug-smuggling baggage. And her mom Annekke is a fox (as well as being a follower / potential steward option).

Mjoll. She was the first character I married when I first played Skyrim. I love the accent and she's chatty. She's also essential, so she'll never die. Aela loses her essential status when you complete one of her totem quests.

And with mods like Amorous Adventures, you can have Anneke NTR her husband. 8D

Heh, I had that mod for awhile and did a couple playthroughs with it. "Dragonborn, I have determined there's only one way to cure the life-threatening curse on Queen Elisif: you simply must bang her brains out in full view of everyone in the Temple of the Divines!"

Pretty sure it has Annekke and Sylgja get incestuous as well, to the point where I had to start headcanon'ing that Sylgja was adopted (she looks nothing like her parents, after all).

Wait, I thought whoever you marry always becomes essential? Or maybe I'm confusing that with the "can't die unless you accidentally get a killshot on them" stuff. I've lost so many companions (especially the chick at Azura's shrine) because I'd play as a mage and wantonly shoot that sweeping ice projectile that bowls enemies over.

Don't really remember Sylgja, but I can check. I usually do Aela vs. Mjoll since Aela's a werewolf like me and Mjoll's a sweetheart (and for some reason, her male companion always meets with fatal danger en route back to Riften, usually with crossbow bolts to the back. Weird).

Yeah, I should've expected there would be thirteen years since release.

Aela has side boob, but there's something about Karliah...
I almost always married aela. Married mjol once a day hee friend just always tagging along made it seem like a weird situation
I put my heart and soul into my work and I fear I have lost my mind in the process
Aela was my first Skyrim wife so I'm biased towards her.

Plus she doesn't have a simp following her around. Sure you could "take care" of him, but that takes effort.

Of those two, Mjoll. Sure, Aerin follows along until he dies(especially if you live at a Hearthfire home), but Mjoll has no problem chopping enemies to bits.

Someone mentioned Ysolda as another option, and she works well if you choose to live in Whiterun itself. The Sleeping Tree Sap thing puts some people off, but it's really the vampires that take it to next level by mixing it with Skooma and the Redwater Spring. The Sap on its own just sort of makes you useless for a bit.

Someone else mentioned Eola... That's... eh... I guess if you're into corpse breath or something...

Out of those two, Mjoll. Her little simp can be taken care of.

She was my second video game crush. Turns out I have a girl-on-girl cannibalism kink.

Hmm, I don't remember Eola being marriable in the vanilla game. Still, it'd be a match -- my dude has been eating tons of human hearts lately. In fact, sometimes I go through to level archery, then transform and go through backwards for a free buffet.

As for Serana, she's not bad. I often start Dawnguard at LV1 for the crossbows nowadays, so it's easy to get sick of her by the end, though. Kind of a shame they didn't make her marriable from the get-go, since you can (IIRC) make your spouse a vampire like you.

I sorta remember her quest...something about fighting a giant in a cave on the plains. I can solo giants nowadays (and often have to, since they can spawn outside my swamp mansion) so it's not a big deal, though.

Guess Aela wins. Maybe I'll go for Mjoll (or one of the others) on a melee playthrough.
