Taxes, death, and trouble.
Brunt/Gaila 2024. Make Ferenginar Great Again!
I'd say some are but saria and ruto are arguably still alive since nothing really implies they died. I think they simply ascended to a divine like state, to which it doesn't matter what their previous status was.

This reference has been stuck in my head for years and I only figured out it was Family Guy like two months ago.

Given that Darunia and Nabooru for sure died to become sages, I'd say it's likely they all did. The temples weren't exactly welcome places once Ganon moved in

LMAO.

What is weird is that if you take wind waker into consideration, sages need to be alive for their power to be of help to the hero. And opposite to oot, the modern day descendants actually remain with him instead of warping out.
:)
Zelda cannot have died for Wind Waker to be a thing, so at the bare minimum not all of them are dead.

Yeah you probably can't take subsequent games into account because they just couldn't have been thinking that far down the road when they made OoT. So the OoT sages either died or their duties as sages require them to cut themselves off from the mortal world almost entirely. But as we see with Wind Waker and Tears of the Kingdom, their sages are not restricted in that way. And considering Ganondorf kills the Sage of Water in Twilight Princess, that would seem to suggest that sages are alive in the same way as everyone else. At least most of the time.
Ah, yes, the Negotiator: General Kenobi

Yes it's true.
I am happy to be stuck with you.
I'm not sure how this outlasted my warning but it did and I'm making it everyone's problem.
