Whenever I go out to kill some free time I see people wearing chinos or sweatpants. Sort of feel like I am getting judged for wearing jeans from some of the facial expressions I have observed.

I feel like it's less of style and more comfortability. Jeans are just so uncomfortable compared to other options. They have some with stretch material but even then they pale in comparison to other stuff
My expectations they are low

I cant find jeans I like anymore. I pretty much just roll with hiking pants now. Way more comfortable.

Sweats are just comfy that's it. I wear sweats 90% of the time but I still wear jeans if I have to go to an appointment or visit friends and family.

I live in the Midwest. Everyone wears jeans in cooler weather and winter. I wear athletic shorts in the summer when its nice. When I was a kid my dad never allowed me to wear sweatpants out of the house. That was considered trashy and too low tier. Its like people wearing pajamas to Wal-mart. The real dregs of society.

I would never wear sweatpants in public, unless actually exercising. They are indoor at-home clothes.
...and I've certainly never been accused of overdressing.
