Hey Fenris out of genuine curiosity (I'm not trying to be a dick, I promise) has the Chinese music industry produced any notable pop stars? Like recently? Or is there not really a huge Chinese pop music industry like in South Korea or Japan?
It does exist but they're not really mass marketed towards any foreign audiences. Also the ones that existed from the 90s to 00s mostly sang about safe subjects. During this time most Chinese youths listened to HK and Taiwanese pop artists such as the likes of Jay Chou and Andy Lau, many of whom are still well regarded in the Chinese diaspora.

The ones nowadays mostly come from talent shows and such, with many trying to ape K-popstars, but there are some genuine talents like Zhou Shen who is quite an accomplished vocalist.
