Making alts used to be all the rage in the RI RPing days. Thats where Priere came from.
There used to be a user that was very popular on RI named Ace Bandage. He used to love playing with the account closure feature. He would hit the button to put his account into the "Pending Closure" user level, and then undo it at the last minute. To freak people out and make them think he was going away forever.
One day he pulled this gag once again, but before he could undo it his internet went out or something and he couldnt get back into the account and stop the closure, so he lost it. This was back in 04 and Ceejus wouldnt even respond to an email trying to explain that situation, so it was gone forever.
A week later, ace busted out a new alt named "Last Hope". There was already a user named "First Hope" that posted frequently. So i decided to be a smart ass and make "Middle Hope". We had a few laughs about it and did some gimmick topics where we all posted in some kind of characters (This part is for sheen so he doesnt get confused. We didnt play like we were all alts of the same person. We were all out own character).
Time passed. They did away with being able to make new space accounts. So the account became kinda special. So i started building more and more karma on it. Just logging in every day and making sure i had 1 AMP. Then recently they killed all space accounts, so i had to change the name. I chose a character from the NIS classic LaPucelle.
I still use the alt to this day because it is my oldest surviving account and it has some history to it.
Interesting. I only created my own account in 2007 so by then spaced accounts were already out. I bet that person felt pretty stupid having finally lost that game of Russian roulette. My only alt was axed within its first post because there was a Dutch poster on 261 who had already expressed that they were a true-blue white supremacist who didn't think multiple ethnicities should mix within society, and me pointing that out on its first post was the first and final straw lol. This was before we were able to call out Nazis for being Nazis. After spending the time to generate enough karma to post on the board, I honestly saw no reason to make another. If I lose this account then that will be it for me and this site.
