Went to a shooting range for the first time today.

do they make you take like a gun safety course or anything?

personally, i think you shouldn't be allowed to touch them before getting at least a basic safety course, but that's just me

maybe it's cause first time i touched a firearm it was in the context of the Swedish army.
IIRC, first we had to read a small book on basic safety, followed by an hour long lecture, followed by a written test
followed by practicing handling it empty, followed by loading and unloading with an empty mag, then with dummy cartridges that don't fire (to practice what to do when they jam)
then we got to shoot them

so maybe i'm just neurotic over that due to having it drilled into my skull too much

Three were 9 mm rounds and one was 45. Dunno the names, sory.

I have been to the range multiple times. I know CE largely hates guns but I find range shooting quite fun.

Gun ranges are great fun. I have my own range i use on my property up north.

Unfortunately CE is full of antigun people that just like to spread misinformation about them and dont like the concept of things like ranges.

At least the ones I went to, I walked out finding those had to be some of the most self-controlled people around town. Everyone follows range rules/facilitators to a T.
