Thankfully we haven't had this group at our library yet but I fear it's only a matter of time. We have people shifting books from time to time. Hiding them, too. Or outright trying to walk out the door without checking them out. Or checking them out and never returning.... Though we have a way to try and recoup our money if they check out and don't return (getting from tax returns).
I'd recommend going to any and all local library meetings or local commissioner meetings and express how unacceptable this crap is. I live in a small town and just reading minutes from these meetings from the past few months has shown me how the library is under attack. It's ridiculous and unfortunately happening all over the US.
