DeSantis never had a chance.

Until Trump is out of the picture, no republican candidate has a chance outside of Trump. He's a clown, but he's an effective clown when it comes to garnering the attention and votes of his demographic. DeSantis isn't even charismatic. All of the interpersonal interactions I've seen him have are just....bad....even for a republican.

And yea, basing your whole platform on the "culture war" and being "anti-woke" will never get you elected. The fact is that the "transgender boogeyman" is just not all that concerning to even the most transphobic bigots.

It's honestly one of my favorite things in politics right now. A terrible candidate does a terrible job and humiliates himself. I'm just so happy he'll never be President. If only he wasn't Governor of Florida...

Not really. Anyone in Florida can tell you how unlikable he was and how bad he was on the debate state. Florida is just at the point where anyone with an R next to their name will win.

It is but there is a near perfect overlap between that demographic with super right wing religious fundies that were going to vote republican no matter what and every single republican candidate is extremely anti-trans so making it the main selling point of your campaign doesn't really help you stand out or motivate anyone to vote for you specifically.

Turns out when he had to talk about actual issues instead of just vaguely crying about "wokeness", he forgot to plan that far.

I hope if Trump doesn't get to run next election, it causes a lot of assholes to lose all interest in politics.
