I have a job where I can go to office kinda when I want and do a lot of work on my own time

those of you that have that how do you keep a good bedtime? I love how I can get in to work at 11 or 12 but also feel like a huge piece of shit as well since getting up earlier would be better for me

what do you guys think? going to bed same time each day would prolly be the best but its tough for me to do on weekends

I only sleep for 3 hours in a 24 hour period

For me, I think it's more of a routine for me than anything else.

Once you get to a "certain age" your weekdays tend to all be the same.

Mine are usually

7:40am Wake Up
8:30am Out the door
9:00am -5:30pm Work
6:00 Home
7:00 Done eating/cleaning up Dinner
7:30 (weather permitting) 30 minute walk around my neighborhood
8:30 Gym
10:00 Home and Showered from Gym

I then use the time from 10ish to around midnight to catch p on any TV, gaming, hobbies, naughty time with the wife, etc. I try my best to be in bed, phone off, and lights out by midnight so I get at least 7 hours of sleep every night.
It takes zero effort to be a good person.
I try to get 6-8 hours of sleep, so whatever time I have to wake up the next day, I try to sleep 6-8 hours before that
If there was one recommendation I would make regarding improving sleep, it would be to wake up at the same time every day, regardless of how good you slept that night.

I take a couple hour nap after work, then wake up and play video games.

Not the best plan if you want to be a successful person.
But playing with daytime players is fucking unbearable.

i don't. i sleep at random ass times of the day or night, depending on when i'm tired, and yeah i still have a job i do very well at. it's random, too. sometimes i can sleep 3 hours and be fine, sometimes i need 10 hours. the dreams are never the same, the day is never the same. everything always changes.

that just how life be

I have to get up at 5:45 AM every week day. That forces the sleep discipline.
My rhythm is solid, don't even have to try.
I got it by setting 3 alarms 15 minutes apart to go of everyday for a few months. I didn't even have to get up when they went off, but eventually, with 3 interruptions my body just started waking up at that time. Getting to bed came naturally after that.

Im up at 5:30 every day.

If I dont get enough sleep one day, that has a knock on effect and it just self-corrects.

Sometimes at weekends Ill stay up until 2 or 3 in the morning, though not that often these days. Regardless, Im up at 5:30 unless Im not at home.

Find the optimal number of hours of sleep you need and work your schedule around it. For example, I need 8 hours of sleep every 24 hours, and I can usually get 2 hours of sleep while taking the bus to and from work, so I try to get six hours of sleep per night.

Not really. I usually have coffee as soon as I get to work and can stay awake the rest of the time.

That's very true. I hate waking up and feeling like a zombie on the weekends.
Less is more. Everything you want, isn't everything you need.
im wondering the same. ill go 3 days sleeping around 3-4 hours. then the 4th day ill sleep for about 8-12 hours. repeat

i wish i can sleep longer hours everyday because on the days i sleep 8-12 hours my mood is considerably better like rn! i slept from around 3-5 pm to 3 am (i woke up 2 and a half hours ago) =]

I got to bed by 9 and get up at about 6 pretty much every day. I function a lot better with a consistent sleep schedule, and this gives me some extra wiggle room for nights where I have trouble falling or staying asleep.

I will stay up a bit later than that sometimes, like if my wife and I are out or we decide to watch or play something.

Because I cant just get a little bit of sleep and be ok, bro and I hate feeling like shit from not getting enough sleep, so by knowing when I have to be up the next day, I can tell myself when I need to go to bed.

Its not difficult.

Setting a dedicated wakeup time is certainly a good way to start. It can be really hard to get into, but gradually it'll help. You can start out with your days off as "cheat days," but I would still set an alarm. If you wake up, then go back to sleep it'll still help adjust your cycle.

Personally, I started with my alarms set at the right time for work days, and an hour later on my days off. It's nice to sleep in if I need to, but at this point I'll usually wake up close to my regular time even on days off.

If your sleep schedule is really bad, I've got one other recommendation. If you're staying up extremely late on any particular night, and know you'll have to sleep well after your alarm time, set one for noon. No matter how late you stay up, set it for noon. If you got to bed a 4, that's a full 8 hours and you still have a chance of a normal bedtime that night. If you stay up until 8 AM, still set it for noon. It's not enough sleep, but that's you're own fault. Sleeping all day is just going to make it worse

even streamrs who stream at like 11 or noon have a set bedtie they go to

to be honest over a year ago Ihad a major issue and felt that exercising prolly would help

if I ever go through that phase again I ll just do more workout/running since they can sometimes help

the one guy who said wak eup around same time everyday might be right. instead of 10 am some days and noon-1 others
